Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Google Hangouts can be utilized to have others join by video. It oversees other programs by being able to have a lot of multiple users on the same hangout. Other programs only allow a few. It is great that Google Hangouts is free and useful in that manner. It is easy to use for Google users.

Pros and Cons

Easy to use with a Google Account.
Multiple users can join via email.
Sending out invitations to email and having the user reminded of the upcoming hangout.

Sometimes a little too basic for sharing screens.

Return on Investment

I would like to use a more secure option.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom, GoToMeeting and Whereby

I would say Zoom and GoToMeeting are still the best in this space. Whereby is also a great free alternative that you can have up to four people on a call. Google Hangouts is great if your company is using Google Apps because of the integration that it has with the documents.

Support Rating

Google is horrible with customer support. The only support you have is links and forums with users if that is possible. There is no number to call and nobody to really email. You just need to search for other users that may be having the same problem. I wish there was a number to call.

Google Hangouts is great as an open option for users when communicating. However, in business, I would like a more secure option such as Zoom or GoToMeeting. Google Hangouts is great for spur of the moment video conferencing or perhaps a free alternative for small businesses when they need to video conference.
