Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
Litmus is currently utilised in my role for testing email rendering across devices and email clients and identifying potential faults in the build. We also use Litmus to track engagement metrics (particularly open rate by email client and opens potentially impacted by email client privacy settings). Litmus provides a more accessible interface for viewing these metrics than our other email marketing platform.

- Easy implementation of tracking codes and an accessible interface for viewing engagement metrics
- Intuitive email builder functionality
- Greater support for interactive engagement reports on a per email basis - it would be great if it wasn't required to generate a new tracking code per email, or download CSV files to see this breakdown.
- Reduced time spent manually testing emails across clients and devices
- Greater insight on privacy settings affected open rates, allowing us to set and understand realistic performance benchmarks
- Improved deliverability to support better email engagement and commercial outcomes
At this stage, we are using Litmus in conjunction with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, but the two platforms are not fully integrated - we may look to integrate in the future to further streamline workflows. However, we are not finding the lack of full integration to be limiting at this time.
Insight into the potential extent of privacy setting impacted open rates has allowed us to reevaluate the emphasis placed on this metric and set more realistic benchmarks.
Currently, our emails are predominantly built using images, and as such the vast majority of design refinement is conducted in the artworking stage. However, the Litmus previews have given the team greater confidence in email rendering across devices/clients and removed the need for manual testing of this nature and review by multiple stakeholders.
