Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

We have been using Mailchimp as an organization for about five years, mostly by the communications department to reach our donors, volunteers, and other supporters of our mission. Mailchimp has helped us refine our marketing strategy and work towards getting our email list more invested and updated on what we’re doing on a frequent basis.
  • Design and templates are easy to manage and tweak to fit our messaging clearly.
  • Mailchimp makes it easy to schedule and see how often you send out email blasts to your lists to keep them engaged.
  • I found myself slightly frustrated by some of the design elements - some felt slightly clunky and I had to sift through some less than optimal design work.
  • I think the email address Add Contact form could be more streamlined.
  • I think any time that a business or nonprofit engages with their audience, it’s a good idea. Mailchimp has made it easy for us to make sure and keep our constituents engaged.
  • There’s a danger of over-engagement with your list if you update folks too often, but Mailchimp makes it easy to see when your last few emails went out and move accordingly.
I think Campaign Monitor actually has a great deal of incredible features — their auto-email that works with the Lightbox pop up on our homepage has helped engage folks as soon as they voice an interest in working with our nonprofit, and I really value that aspect of the software.
I think Mailchimp has had to compete with a lot of the newer email marketing campaign softwares and has modernized quite a bit since it came out a few years ago. I think it was one of the first ones of its kind that I heard about and the team seems to have worked hard to keep it relevant.
This all in one marketing platform is actually really helpful in making sure that all of our team members are abreast of the work that we are doing separately. As the executive director of the organization, it’s important for me to be able to streamline our messaging and this software makes it really easy to do that.
I think one of the most important lessons I have learned through using email marketing software, specifically Mailchimp, is that It is crucial to engage your constituents as often as you possibly can. That being said, it’s also important to make sure that your emails are short and have an engagement piece like a big link or a video to keep the audience excited and reading.
I think Mailchimp is really great for the beginner business or nonprofit manager looking to engage and inspire an existing database. It’s so hard to share the stories of impact while simultaneously doing the work and Mailchimp helps streamline that process for people who have little to no graphic design training.
