Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp
We use MailChimp for most of our mass messaging needs to an audience of ~2,000 online instructors (employees) throughout the United States. With our current messaging strategy, we're sending typically 2-3 significant emails each week, filled with information leading them to our internal intranet for even more details.
- Contact Management
- Dynamic Messaging
- Easy Interface
- Analytics
- Reliability on Sending
- Well priced
- Ability to set administrators of business account
- Positive - We have actionable data to show us open/click rates. And because we send to our own employees, we have the need at times to see who isn't opening our emails and tie those rates to other areas of performance. We often find that those who are performing poorly in their work also don't read their emails as often.
- Positive - We're able to message a variety of employee types for a variety of circumstances and have confidence that the right message is getting to the right person at the right time.
I like MailChimp much more than any other mass email platform I've used. What sells me most is the ease of use, contact management, and price.
Honestly, we don't really have traditional marketing needs. We're not leading customers to certain products. We primarily use the product as a messaging tool. I couldn't give an accurate review of how MailChimp performs as a marketing tool. It does, however, effectively get our employees to the right information we need that lives in our internal community; though to be fair, any messaging tool could probably do that well enough.
Our biggest success is simply being able to report back to leadership how many of our employees are reading the updates that we send out--when they read them (time of day/day of the week) most. We can report back confidently, either way, if the messaging has made an impact or hasn't been consumed as we'd hoped. Important lessons: Learn quickly when/how to effectively use the templates feature for recurring messages rather than making new ones every time. Learn quickly how to use the tags and what those differentiations in the audience can do for your messaging/marketing strategy. Dive in deeply and quickly on how to use dynamic messaging.
