Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Business

We purchased our Microsoft 365 Business license in conjunction with our email hosting so we could have the ability to have a uniform approach to checking email on the road using Outlook and be able to manage the licenses for users quickly and easily. It allows my sales team flexibility with documents on the road and allows me a uniform roll out to support and train on.
  • License Management is easy to maintain. I don't have to worry about allocating licenses to temp employees as it is easy to grant and revoke access.
  • Platform standardization. It is so nice not to worry about what version of "X" everyone is using. All the users can support each other for "how to" type questions.
  • Easy to reach tech support. The few times we have had a problem they contacted us quickly and handled everything with a great attitude.
  • The admin panel is a little clumsy for a novice. I think a search feature to find settings you are looking for would be a wonderful addition.
  • When passwords have to be reset for whatever reason, I wish there was a way to not pull authorization on all previously authorized devices unless you want it to.
  • It has cut our IT bill down as we don't have to call a third party to manage so many of our email concerns. And, when we do have to call, we get to use Microsoft Support rather than paying a third party.
  • Uptime is higher than we have had for email and app support, almost 100%.
We tried to work with Google Docs but it was just too foreign and had issues with compatibility for customers and office staff. There was also a high enough learning curve and it was just different enough from what they were using that it caused transition issues with the back and forth.
We haven't experienced any performance issues for our uses. We can export and import data efficiently and the mail server works as desired. Skype can be a little tricky with bandwidth issues, but that seems to be more bandwidth related than anything. I wish there was a way to use Microsoft Access via the web, but you can only ask so much.
It's a solid product with years of tweaking behind it. Because it is cost effective and easy to manage for the less tech savvy companies, I think it is a no brainer. I really don't see why you would go with anything else. That said, it is nice to see Microsoft continue to update and streamline software that really has no competition to do make it do so.
I think it is great for small to medium business particularly if you have a mobile sales crew and need to support users who aren't at your location. It puts a lot of power in both the user and the admin's hands which makes it easy to transfer between machines and allows for emergency "work from home" scenarios.
