Microsoft Office 365 (Cloud)

Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)

While I cannot speak for the legal services team, I've used MS 365 Word, Excel and PowerPoint at various times during my tenure at Brotman Law as the content manager (marketing) as well as at my home office where I occasionally do freelance work. It's been useful for writing and editing copy, creating presentation decks and creating spreadsheets to pull information from to use for projects such as creating mailing labels and adding to the contacts list in our HubSpot CRM.
  • Microsoft Word is great for correspondence, tables, calendars, and easily converts documents to PDF format.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint can help you design beautiful presentation slide decks, for both standard and wide screen.
  • Microsoft Excel can organize data that can be used in a wide variety of applications such as product pricing spreadsheets.
  • Using Microsoft Word for detailed layouts (like those done in InDesign) is difficult in that importing images and creating layers feels "clunky."
  • Outlook is used by all employees all day, every day to communicate within the office and to the outside world.
  • Word is used to create both simple and complicated documents.
  • Excel is used for lead generation lists and email marketing contact lists
  • PowerPoint is used for presentations and Zoom events.
  • The many eBooks on our website were created using Microsoft Office documents, which greatly enhances our site's learning center.
  • Using our HubSpot CRM, pulling the data from our Excel "golden ratio" spread sheet was quick and efficient.
  • Outlook allows for the creation of branded e-signatures and images and documents are easily attached and sent.
InDesign is more powerful than Microsoft Word as a publishing software, but fewer people use it, so I use Microsoft Word more frequently.

Do you think Microsoft 365 delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Microsoft 365's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft 365 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft 365 go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft 365 again?

Yes

As a graphic designer and copywriter, my usual go-tos are Adobe applications. However, many of my colleagues and clients do not have this software, so I often use Microsoft 365 as a means to communicate to people using both Macs and PCs. As I've mentioned before, I think Microsoft Word is terrific, but my experience using it to create collateral materials such as multi-page brochures has had varied results.
