Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro primarily in the discovery phase of projects to quickly and roughly map out ideas, concepts and storyboards. It’s great when we are working remotely and collaborating with multiple people. We also use it to brainstorm with multiple people, track project progress with the kanban board and calendar.
- There is a casual nature to Miro— nothing needs to be too precise when using the application.
- The calendar feature is great
- Limited fonts is good — good to give constraints to people when choosing a font and keeping the board consistent with many collaborators
- Switching between mouse and trackpad is a nice feature — I wish it happened automatically?
- Editing colors is challenging — especially if there is a custom color created in a board, another collaborator can’t access this color
- The board can get easily overwhelming if it’s a larger project and there are multiple collaborators. I think there should be a way to categorize larger sections better, beyond drawing a big box around them. Also with many collaborators people tend to quickly scale things — especially fonts and photos. It would be good to help keep the content and plain text the same size across collaborators
- The presentation feature is always challenging to use. It’s not super clear how to start a presentation and If you zoom in and out on one “slide” it’s easy to move out of the presentation setting, which can be frustrating especially when you’re in the middle of a presentation.
- Improved speed of development— less time perfecting a presentation/formatting
It’s great to be able to work so seamlessly with people remotely. A video/voice feature could improve this collaboration further -- or add-ins through zoom.

Using Miro
- early initial development of concepts/brainstorming/inspiration boards etc.
- logging of progress
- calendar tool -- tracking critical dates/out of office/duration of work
- I think a spectator mode may be helpful when sharing with members outside of your core team
- I think it could be helpful to have multiple work boards per project, kinda like google sheets with the tabs at the bottom. This could help keep project development together, but still separated per phase
