Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

Our company primarily uses Paychex Flex to process weekly payroll. However we are branching out to use for benefits administration, training and development, and leave tracking. Using the software in a multi-purpose platform allows us a centralized and accurate source of employee and accounting information.

Pros

  • Creating custom financial reports.
  • Summarizing employee earnings.
  • Maintaining historical payroll detail data.

Cons

  • The ability to access history for accounts that are inactive.
  • More options for employee information, census, and detail reports.
  • A more condensed format for payroll entry.
  • The ability to modify/add/delete payroll and deduction categories.
  • The annually cost incurred is not resulting in savings for our company until recently.
  • We are paying for features we are not utilizing or seeing benefit from.
  • Our payroll processing is handled efficiently.
Paychex Flex was already in use prior to my employment. However, I find Paychex Flex to be much more user-friendly.
Mainly for the ease of use. Also due to the ability to add on features that enhance the human resource and accounting capabilities.

The software allows for ease of use when it comes to running payroll and reports for a smaller to mid-sized company. However, it doesn't seem to have all the elements necessary to meet the demand of a larger organization.

Yes - We are a growing company whose needs are increasing and changing.
Yes - It was not resolved. It seems to be a feature of our upgraded platform.
Our account manager of the last six months has been courteous, responsive, and quite attentive to our needs. Even when we do request assistance with issues he is not directly responsible for, he provides a gateway of communication to the appropriate department in order to expedite a resolution.

Yes, but I don't use it
Some tasks are easier to perform than others or the user must contact their account manager to assist. The self-service features should be more robust than they actually are. For example, employees are unable to access tax forms.
