Paylocity is a great cross-department system
Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity as our HRIS, LMS, Performance Management, and Benefits system.
Pros
- We really enjoy the automation between onboarding and automatically assigned trainings to reduce manual efforts.
- We are able to customize many things between all modules to suit our needs. For example, the different event packets in onboarding based on employee type and which client they will be working for that have extra onboarding requirements.
- I really appreciate that Paylocity is ever-evolving and takes customer feedback to better enhance their platforms. I submit feedback on a weekly basis on their products and sometimes I even receive a response regarding my feedback.
Cons
- Paylocity could improve on the functionality of the Instructor-Led trainings. Their integration with Microsoft Outlook has some bugs. It doesn't automatically remove a rescinded training and it adds a new training and doesn't remove the old training when it has been edited. The integration also doesn't have a 15-minute reminder on the training session, so often we see employees missing their training sessions.
- Paylocity added a feature to add files to their Community groups. However, every time you upload a file to a group, it automatically sends a notification to everyone in that group. It would be helpful to turn this notification off.
- Paylocity workflows are great, but I wish they had a few more capabilities. It would be helpful to launch workflows similarly to trainings and surveys, i.e. open assignment, automatic assignment, assigned to specific participants.
- Paylocity has allowed our company to reduce a lot of manual efforts and have a centralized location for many of our processes. As time goes on we have moved multiple manual processes over to Paylocity. This reduces manual labor for our employees and a centralized location for employees to complete tasks and retrieve data.
Paylocity's automation tools have reduce manual efforts and reduced room for errors. I have seen immense improvement in our onboarding and orientation experience.
We started using Impressions and Community this year. This has definitely been a new experience that our employees had to adapt to. We moved our communication and employee recognition from Teams to Paylocity. As we change our process and adjust to employee feedback we have seen an increase in engagement within the Paylocity system.
We used UltiPro before we used Paylocity. Paylocity is much more user friendly. They didn't have an LMS system, we had to use a different system for benefits, and we didn't have any capabilities for employee engagement. With Paylocity, we're able to do all of that in one system.

10 - There are about 10 people that use Paylocity every day within our organization. They use HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Community. These are the products that are used the most but we use almost every other product that Paylocity offers.
