Overall Satisfaction with Prophix
Prophix is being used by finance and demand planning/sales. It has enabled us to automate reports and provide visibility of forecasts to the sales team, at the item level and account level. We will be launching Web Client to our sales team at the end of the month. They will use it for reporting purposes and keeping track of their specific account sales.
- Slicing and dicing data. You are able to efficiently run reports at any level of your hierarchy within seconds.
- With templates, we are able to generate one formatted report for multiple sales team members at the click of a button.
- Prophix is very user-friendly.
- We forecast at the item level. I am unable to use workflow to automate forecast changes because sometimes I get forecasts for items that are obsolete. There is not a way for us to tell Prophix NOT to load data to specific items in the hierarchy.
- You can only use one Dimension per page, row, column. At times, we need more than one layer (alternate hierarchies) to be displayed within either pages, rows or columns.
- We are unable to copy/paste or export to Excel within ad-hoc in the web client. The copy/paste function does not provide column or row titles/names which renders the data useless. This hinders the use of ad hoc for our sales team. They are reporting users and cannot create a template. They will use ad hoc for grab-n-go type reports that they can manipulate further in Excel.
- We are able to automate reports and provide them in a timely manner, for Senior Management, at any level required.
- We are able to easily identify gains/losses at all levels of items/customers.
- Prophix has automated many of our processes and enhanced our way of doing business.
I am a recently new administrator and still require additional training on the importing/exporting processes. You do have to know background system information in order to understand what you are doing. I have worked with Sandra and Judy in the past and their knowledge is extensive. They were able to assist us in getting our model updated. Maybe a more detailed learning on the import/export, process manager, infoflex for the "non IT" end user would be helpful.
Being able to access Prophix in all of the above methods, works for us. Our sales team is mobile so it benefits them tremendously while traveling.
