Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

We are using Quickbase across the company and we primarily have used QuickBase to migrate some paper-based processes/workflows to cloud-based applications. Our biggest applications are used for all company purchasing, all company training, and all our company's project management. We also have some smaller apps like help desk and some basic customer relationship management.
  • The main one is the fact that any person with basic technical skills (in IT or otherwise) can create some powerful applications with no software development experience.
  • Quickbase does a good job of alerting staff with emails and reminders for approvals and other required actions within the applications.
  • Formula fields, webhooks, and other tools allow for some powerful customization.
  • Quickbase has not changed a lot in the time we've used it, they have made some minor changes along the way like CSV sync and syncing with other cloud based applications but the overall functionality has not changed much. QuickBase could do more to improve the existing product as they are falling behind some competition.
  • It would be nice if there was some easier ways to create and troubleshoot form rules. Along those lines - some easier ways to create formulas for people who are not familiar with this type of development (if then statements etc.).
  • It would be nice if QuickBase had a proper mobile client, a way to upload paper forms and have them converted, a nicer look and feel for forms.
Definitely, our whole company used Quickbase for procurement. This is an end to end solution right from creating an order, to having it approved, to tracking shipments, and reconciling invoices.
We have been using quickbase for several years.
I think anyone with some basic technical skills who is willing to read the QuickBook training is easily capable of building some solid applications. It takes a few days to get the hang of things but once someone understands fields, forms, tables, form rules, and notifications it starts to make sense. We do most of our development within IT but none of our IT staff has any formal software development training and we have build some very complex applications.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
We probably spend about 10 hours a week updating existing applications within our environment and it is rare that we can't deliver what the users are asking for.
We have been able to solve 90% of our business needs with QuickBase but in some cases, we have had to build some very complicated applications to meet our requirements and user requests.
