Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

We use Quickbase in a variety of ways. We have built applications in Quickbase for new hire processing, inventory and asset management and QA, and we have also written applications that our clients use.
  • Applications - Quickbase is very versatile when it comes to creating applications.
  • Reporting - Quickbase has a very robust reporting platform that is extremely customizable.
  • Documentation - Quickbase's documentation combined with community support ensures that answers to questions are easy to find.
  • I would like to see a few more options available for building forms (embedded images).
We have built several applications for both internal and external use which have streamlined our company processes for onboarding, quality assurance and inventory management. We take advantage of the Quickbase community to find examples of applications that make deploying our own versions easier.
Compared to applications like Salesforce, Quickbase is cheaper and much easier to deploy and maintain.
When building applications in Quickbase, it helps to have a working knowledge of database structure and practices (i.e., how different datasets can be related to each other, how to build simple formulas, etc.). Programming knowledge is not required, but can be helpful when creating more complex applications. If you're familiar with tables, forms and related concepts, learning Quickbase should be straightforward.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Quickbase's ease-of-use allowed us to quickly create, test and deploy applications across many different departments. We continue to add to and improve the applications we have built.
We recently deployed an asset management system to keep track of our IT department's inventory and purchases. The main use of the app was for tracking computers and laptops. Soon after we launched the app, it became apparent that we could also use it to track IT purchases, so we built new forms in the app for submitting information on those purchases. We further improved the application by building in an asset "check-out" system which allowed employees to temporarily take ownership of an item (like a laptop). The application would report on what inventory was checked out and when each item was due to be returned. Employees who checked out inventory would be reminded of the return date. This allowed us to more accurately manage our inventory. Our most recent addition to this application was to extend the purchasing portion of the app to departments outside IT.
Quickbase is ideal for small companies that need to create applications that mimic functions of larger platforms which may be out of reach due to costs and complexity of implementation.
