Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect

We have many remote shopping centers that do have workstations for security and maintenance functions. it was becoming really cumbersome having to drive to the location to help solve a problem. Generally these problems are simply showing the end user how to do something, not per say an IT issue. So ScreenConnect saves me time and money from traveling to perform the task of training the end user. I also have ScreenConnect installed on a few of the key servers in my infrastructure to have a second way in, in case a domain controller were to malfunction.
  • It is very easy to download and deploy a new client on any machine, simply log in to the console and choose build and download to the machine.
  • Screenconnect is always on and ready to go, as long as the internet is up, I can rest assured I can access the right machines on my network to solve problems.
  • The ability to transfer files is a nice feature and it works much faster than doing via RDP.
  • Being able to also delete and change names of the remote clients is also a nice feature.
  • Another feature that I like is that it captures screen shots from the last check in, this has helped identify unauthorized use of company equipment.
  • I think the licensing model needs more flexibility, the model allows for 10 clients and 1 technician or on the next level unlimited clients and 3 technicians. I wish there was something in between, like 1 technician and 15 or 20 clients. I guess I am describing more tiered pricing.
  • The documentation was not extremely clear to me on deployment.
  • Some reporting features that could tell me when a client is no longer online would help me be a bit more proactive.
  • The most positive impact has been the ability to solve hot issues without having to get in a car and drive there. This makes a headache into a minor fix. I find that out every week.
  • Being able to connect and make sure that clients are up to date on patches and that antivirus is working is an invaluable part of proactively managing the clients.
  • The overall cost of the software compared to their competition was a major factor in choosing ScreenConnect. Like I stated before more tiers on the licensing would be great as I see myself using it more and more as time goes on and can think of other places to deploy , but I am limited and find myself having to carefully choose which clients are worth that license.
  • On the above point, if I had realized how useful this would become to me , I would have put in more money at budget time. now its a much larger jump midstream and I really avoid going back to management once I set my budget.
Join.me and TeamViewer are more expensive, and generally you have to walk the user over the phone to get the client installed if you have to help someone where it was not pre-deployed. With Screen connect you can create a session from the console and send an email link which has proven easy enough for the least computer savvy users to install and get me access in situations I never thought about deploying the client. So the ability to get anyone up and connected is a big plus for me.
I have many instances of this being well suited for what I am trying to use it for - solving remote computer problems and solving remote training problems. Also a few times it has helped me troubleshoot server problems when a VPN or DNS server is not working properly. I do not have any scenarios that I don't think it would not be appropriate.
