Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Slack is primarily used as a communication tool, either by DM with other coworkers, to group channels, or in conjunction with automation to third party programs. This is particularly useful for customer service/experience teams and touts Google Workspace integrations, Cloverleaf, Zapier, and customer platforms like Zendesk, Customer etc.

Microsoft Teams

Slack had a more robust integration stack, more friendly interface, and better user adoption in my time comparing tools. (Though was with different teams/companies)

Likelihood to Recommend

Slack has been very well suited for a range of companies that I've utilized services through. This ranged from startups with ~50 staff, to larger corporations with 400+ staff. It is easy to use from a corporate staff perspective, retail staff, and as an administrator for staff/teams. I think it might not make sense as a service for teams of 20 or less, though have not tried the use case myself (my decision would boil down to use-case and pricing). If a company has a range of services they're looking to integrate and Slack offers plugins, I would recommend exploring.
