Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

I have multiple computers that I work with. There is my trusty old laptop. Then I have one PC at work, and one at home. Having cloud back up is nice, but there are times when I need access to a computer I am not close to. We have tools and software that run locally on a computer and the only way to get access to those is to remotely log in to that computer to use it. That is where TeamViewer fits into the picture. It is an absolute godsend because it lets me connect to unattended computers that I have with a single click. I use this all the time to log into the work PC from home, or to the Home PC when I am traveling. The fact that it also lets me transfer files and reboot and reconnect is the cherry on top.
  • Single click connection. You can connect to any one of your PCs with a single click, no need to mess around with Usernames and passwords.
  • Unattended access. I don't need to have someone at the other computer to let me in. I can set up unattended access and connect to that computer (as long as it's on) in a matter of seconds.
  • It's really simple to set up and add a device to a list of devices you want to connect to. Just install, login and set up. You are done.
  • It is VERY reliable. I cant remember the last time it crashed and left me hanging.
  • The performance could be better in scenarios where you are working with limited bandwidth.
  • Updates are too frequent and dont really add anything useful.
  • It has made me more mobile and confident in my ability to provide support and data even when I am not at the location.
  • It has made my team more productive because they dont have to be in the same room to collaborate.
I liked that TeamViewer was more flexible than something like Zoom. I also found it to be more reliable than Bomgar (which I had some minor issues with). It is also the easiest of these software to use. However if you only need a software for presentations, I would probably recommend Zoom over this.
It's perfect if you have PCs (or Macs) that you need access if you are offsite. It's super simple to set up and deploy, and you can easily add other computers to your devices. It's also great if you want to share screens with a team member or send or receive files from them if your email is down.

Not so great if the internet connection you have is flaky.
