Overall Satisfaction with UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform

UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is currently being used across our entire company, even though each territory (US, Canada, Europe, Middle-East, Africa, Asia) drives its own initiative. So the model within the entire company is rather decentralized (but territories cooperate in terms of knowledge, experience and best-practice sharing). As a consultancy firm, we cover both sides - we're automating processes internally for our own benefit, but we also apply the same knowledge and offer our clients the expertise to increase their efficiency too. UiPath is usually applied in typical RPA agendas such as Finance, Admin, HR, and often IT, but in Operations too (which varies from company to company).
  • Academy (e-learning) - behind the success of UiPath is definitely their e-learning platform.
  • Good marketing (in connection to the previous point).
  • Platform abilities (features) and overall component compactness (Studio, Robot, Orchestrator).
  • 3 and 2018.4 releases made a huge leap in terms of functionality, so we're not missing anything currently.
  • This product might be a bit pricey for smaller companies.
  • Depends on the specific business case - if it's good - you can get an ROI in the first year.
  • Also, it is often difficult to estimate maintenance costs in advance for your automated processes.
The global contract between our companies was a large factor. Unfortunately, I personally was not present in all demonstrations of competitors' products.
More appropriate: When used like a "glue" (like a composite application). When you expect more (longer or shorter) processes to automate and environments/sources are varying (as well as what you need to do/achieve). For example data from websites, SQL, Excel, legacy systems, your internal systems, web-applications, transforming data, sending emails, connecting via API, using some AI algorithm/code within the process for matching, etc.

Less appropriate: If there are other and better (more reliable ways) to achieve the desired goal - usually using API, SQL jobs, Python/PowerShell code, etc.
