Overall Satisfaction with ViewPoint ProContractor

ProContractor is used as our primary business ERP for both company level and corporate level accounting. We utilize the accounting features, the payroll features, the project cost accounting features, the vendor management (compliance and contracting) features, and some select project management features. We do not use the estimating, equipment, or materials features.
  • Performs most project cost accounting features required.
  • Performs vendor contract management well.
  • Allows for multi-company/division and intercompany accounting.
  • The program is siloed, so connecting to other software or databases is not going to happen.
  • When hosted, the program can run slow.
  • The program is not going to perform complex accounting tasks with subledgers.
  • The program does not do much in terms of HR other than payroll.
  • The program has helped us grow in finance and accounting measures. We were limited with more basic accounting software.
  • The program has limited our ability to integrate various aspects of our business to avoid dual entry.
ProContractor support has gone through good times and bad times. However, now that ViewPoint is owned by Trimble the support has been great and stable. Support is good to respond on average urgency tickets. The only complaint is that for urgent tickets communication can be slow even though the support team is working on the issue.

Do you think Viewpoint ProContractor delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Viewpoint ProContractor's feature set?

No

Did Viewpoint ProContractor live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Viewpoint ProContractor go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Viewpoint ProContractor again?

Yes

ProContractor is a great fit if you are looking to make the jump to an ERP (accounting) system that offers a higher level of complexity and controls than what QuickBooks or Xero have to offer. However, some of those increased features of accounting controls, vendor compliance management, project contracting and documentation, come at the cost of lost integrations. ProContractor is completely siloed and does not openly communicate with other platforms (project management, bank accounts, etc).
