Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We use the WatchGuard Network Security to provide us a secure and stable environment for our network. Prior to my starting at the company, they did not have any firewall or network security running. I shopped and compared various vendors and settled on WatchGuard for price and for their reputation. Implementation was straight forward

  • Web Blocking of sites to prevent malicious or immoral websites

  • Generating policies can be very confusing
  • The traffic monitor is extremely busy and they could do a better job in explaining how to sort and what to sort on
  • We now have a secure environment and do not have to worry about intrusions
  • The gateway antivirus provides an essential peace of mind

No, I did not work with a partner. The installation and setup were straight forward. Straight out of the box it provides you with the essential security you need. Of course you can modify or generate your own policies as well. The Subscription Dashboard provides you with an easy interface to recognize anything that may be going on with your system
Having a centralized security solution makes my life as an Administrator easier. I don't have to worry about compatibility between vendors solutions. WatchGuard provided me with a single stop and solution that addresses my security needs. Their wireless access points can also be centrally managed and setup for those was just as easy.
Time is invaluable. By using the WatchGuard Cloud products I get a centralized solution that is easy to understand, providing me with firmware updates that can easily be rolled out with a few clicks of the mouse. I cannot emphasize enough the beauty of having it all in one place without having to worry about compatibility.
While I truly believe all of the products can provide a suitable solution, I had previous experience with SonicWall TZ and was less than impressed. Fortinet was extremely expensive and I couldn't justify the additional cost. Again, WatchGuard's centralized Cloud solution makes managing the system easier and that makes my life better

I would give them a 10 but they really need to work on the speed of their tech support. When you get a technician they are very knowledgeable, but It has taken me multiple attempts to get someone in support on the phone. It doesn't matter if you mark it as having a high impact on your company, they are either extremely short staffed; or extremely busy. Either way, this is the single biggest area they should improve

WatchGuard Network Security Support

For something that is considered business critical they should be far more responsive. Security isn't something to take lightly in today's work environment and so long as its working you are happy. But when it doesn't and you need that professional assistance, they weren't always there and I ultimately resolved my issues with the help of Google.
Yes we did, but their support truly lacks. This is the one area that I am very dissatisfied with, but the good news is I have rarely needed it and since the setup and operation are very easy and straight forward, it hasn't become a major issue. But for some, it could. Just beware they may not always respond when you really need them.
Unfortunately, no. As I've clearly stated, their support truly lacks. Now it's been about 2 years since I installed and setup the system and since then I've not needed any additional support, so hopefully they may have improved by now. I'm just reporting my direct personal experience with the support team.
