Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent
we use Incent to calculate monthly commissions and to provide reporting to the commissioned employees as well as to the Finance and Sales Operations teams. Prior to Incent the commissions were calculated using spreadsheets so this was a change to automate what had been a very manual process.
Pros
- Incent allows for relatively easy updates to plan configuration
- The tool runs very quickly when we process what we call a sync or pipeline
- Most objects can be updated via mass uploads
Cons
- Some of the recently updated views are not always intuitive, so I have to reach out to support for assistance, for example in figuring out how to run a query
- I am struggling a bit with the document management tool but need to take more training
- We have not adopted the prior period processing function as it seems like a big change where the negative impacts might outweigh the benefits
- Incent helps us make sure our reps have confidence that their hard work is being accurately compensated which frees them up to focus on selling
By providing sales management, sales operations and finance with timely and accurate reporting on the performance of the sales teams we are ensuring they are aware of the developing trends. Decisions can be made to implement changes before bad situations get out of hand.
We are just starting to make full use of the analytics capabilities for sales planning, territory/quota, and sales forecasting
Using Zinkt and Sales Force, we can run a single process to pull the monthly sales data from Sales Force, have it configured and loaded to Incent, the Incent calculation process run and reports are updated
I used SAP Commissions at a much larger company and find Xactly is better suited for a company of the size where I currently work
