Overall Satisfaction with Ziflow

My client makes explainer videos for startups and Fortune 500 companies. Working remotely, we need a simple way of getting the animatics ready for the client. Ziflow makes it easy for all decision-makers, both in-house at my primary client and inside the various departments of their clients to leave detailed feedback before moving on to final animation, where revisions can be more costly. A great platform that solves a very specific problem better than any other platform I've tried.
  • Time specific comments.
  • Drawings tools to roughly mark up a video frame.
  • Replies and uploading files in the comments.
  • Sharing with multiple commenters and decision-makers.
  • Wave-form audio would be a nice addition, but not necessary for 99.9% of users.
  • [It would be nice to have] animator/tablet-friendly drawing tools for the 0.1% of users who use it for cartoon animation.
  • Time saved.
  • No third party application downloads.
  • Covers a bulk of file-formats, making cross platform sharing easy.
  • Intuitive and easy to use, small learning curve.
We first used proofHQ and then switched over to Ziflow, which I understand is made by the same team. So not much. But prior to both those platforms, getting feedback from a single decision-maker, let alone multiple decision-makers was a mess.
It's easier to follow and much faster.

Frame.io is free. I use it with some end-user clients who do not have clients of their own. Frame.io is great but lacks the markup tools Ziflow has. Being able to draw on the screen and specifically indicating elements on the screen is essential to what I do. Ziflow beats Frame.io, hands down with that feature alone. And the organizational aspects of Ziflow can't truly be appreciated until you use a platform that lacks them.
Ziflow is great for motion graphics and explainer video-type animation. It's even generally useful for some cartoon animation, but the drawings tools need to be refined if it's going to be used for cartoon animation studios. Given that's not the bulk of users, it probably won't negatively apply to your use case.
