Zoom is used across the university for personal meetings, meeting rooms, and online courses. It addresses every need we have where we can't physically travel to the location or it's cost-prohibitive.
- Easy to connect.
- Reliable - Zoom handles different bandwidths and devices gracefully.
- Multi-device support - Almost any internet-connected device can connect.
- Education specific features - Taking attendance, "seating charts", more polling options, and more breakout rooms features.
- Full feature support for Chromebooks - Can't join breakout rooms.
- Zoom has made it easy for any user to connect no matter their technical acumen.
- The fact that more people can use it, has lessened the need to travel both on campus and away.
Easy to use and easy to book. The hardware component is key and having a support network ready to help if something doesn't work. Overall Zoom Rooms calendar integration and book-ability make it something that is used across campus on a regular basis. It is growing at a fast pace across campus.
While Zoom doesn't have all the webinar features of Adobe Connect, the reliability and stability of the system and the advanced features make it a very easy choice. Long-term it feels like it will a much easier to support system that users enjoy using and does not cause issues on a frequent basis.
