Achievers is well suited as a rewards and recognition platform - which is what it was designed for. It's less appropriate for a company intranet to share files and documents with one another. Allowing users to do both on one platform would be a great solution for bridging the gap between corporate communication and rewards.

The need for real-time updates and adjustments is imperative in the world of human resources.Less Appropriate: The app is currently not up to par and would be a great asset once they update and release more features.

  • The Recruiting module is one of the best tools on SuccessFactors. This has so many capabilities and has truly helped managing all the positions and candidates that have applied to our requisitions.
  • The Learning module is a great asset to provide and push out required training for all employees. Tracking and reporting is seamless and easy to execute. Easy to manage, update and provide to all or a few employees.
  • Performance and Goals module is a great way to track and maintain professional and personal goals. This process is easy to track, update when needed, and beneficial for manager and direct reports. Powerful and accurate goal management for all levels.
  • Reporting module is easy to create own customized reports as needed that may not be standard out of the box. Ability to share those reports across groups/employees is extremely beneficial.
  • The org chart functiality is really impressive. You can make edits/changes within the org chart that have real time effects. The ease to view divisions and company org charts is so simple. One of the best features of any HRIS I have ever experienced.

  • There is a high level of disparity between some of the products. Many were purchased later on and "bolted" to the existing software. Unfortunately, there are always parts of this purchased software that do not mesh well with the existing system. They sometimes require separate log ins, additional uploads/permission/management, and sometimes separate reporting. There hasn't been much of an effort by SuccessFactors to better align these products so that there is a fluid transition between the modules.
  • The system lags in several key areas. The latest software update (v12) adds a far more robust homepage, however, it slows the initial site load considerably. Navigation between the modules is also very slow.
  • Parts of the software are dated. They either lack functionality that most systems have today or simply look like older technology. The v12 update improves on this issue but is only available for some modules.
  • Much of the software feels like it was "designed" by programmers. The user interface is not the most intuitive and can be confusing for non tech-savvy users. Even more astute users struggle with over-complicated processes and layouts.

Our company has invested a significant amount of time and capital in the configuration, implementation, communication and on-going maintenance of our set of SuccessFactors modules. The system is a good investment for the value it brings to a company of our size in terms of functionality and user friendliness. There is a lot of untapped potential that our company could realize and increase the ROI. Ironically, in order to realize the untapped potential of the system, we would need to work with external consultants, not SuccessFactors themselves, to identify such opportunities and solutions

The goals module could be a little more straightforward in terms of aligning and linking goals. The employee central is relatively new, so it's been a little buggy and we've had to use workarounds. However, overall I am very satisfied.

If you had asked me before the summer, I would have rated them 10/10 for up time. I am not sure if it was due to the SAP acquisition or not, but we had quite a few significant issues over the summer. Their servers have been bombarded. I know they are setting up new data centers, so some of these issues are supposed to go away. We have had more downtime than I think is acceptable, especially based on past performance.

We had some slow downs in last 6 months because of the server issues. They were experiencing load balancing issues. In previous years we have not had problems. We do batch our appraisals into one time at the end of our fiscal year which is June.

I would rate the support for Employee Central much higher - 9/10. It is a new product and they want people to be successful. For other modules, tech support is abysmal. They made some changes over the summer and last fall and it was really challenging. Their people did not understand the product and they would take an eternity to get back to you. They would make changes that effected other areas of product and they were not aware of it

In reference to the implementation of Employee Central, the consultants were less familiar with certain aspects of product as it's new. I would have liked them to have better handle on all aspects of product as there were some things we had to go back and change. They were however helpful and open to discussion all the time. They were very accessible to us.

  • Positive: it has increased our company's ability to express gratitude for exceptional work
  • Positive: it has increased our company's overall morale
  • Negative: rewarding points for gratitude can be expensive depending on the size of the company

  • Negative Impact: Never could reach customer service to have questions answered so they were never solved.
  • Negative Impact: We ended up not using this software anymore because of frustration, which in return we ended up losing money.
  • Negative Impact: Managers frustrated because of the difficulty in using the software, which in turn made them frustrated with HR and they ended up going a different route of doing performance reviews.
  • Negative impact: Performance Reviews were not getting completed due to difficulties which in return made merit increases and evaluations postponed.
