Achievers is well suited as a rewards and recognition platform - which is what it was designed for. It's less appropriate for a company intranet to share files and documents with one another. Allowing users to do both on one platform would be a great solution for bridging the gap between corporate communication and rewards.

Positive: Great advantage is when using Recruiting, Performance Reviews, Goal management, and Training for your employees. The need for real-time updates and adjustments is imperative in the world of human resources.Less Appropriate: The app is currently not up to par and would be a great asset once they update and release more features.

  • SuccessFactors has a variety of products covering the entire human capital suite. Their core strength lies in the consolidation of these into a single system which simplifies the experience for users.
  • The software is highly configurable for a SaaS product. While it varies between the modules, there is typically a lot room to configure both functionality and aesthetics.
  • Success Factors provides a great support system. We receive a lot of help from their support team, engineers, and sales reps. SF has also gone out of its way to create a robust customer community, resource guides, and in-depth trainings for administrators.

  • Though the user interface is easy and simple, the system admin side of the LMS is way too complicated. The architecture is complex, it takes too many steps to set up a learning item. Plus the windows in which the admin role needs to edit the content, are often very small.
  • The approval chain of the recruitment module has very limited number of roles (approval steps). For a matrix type of organization, this is difficult to cater day-to-day needs.
  • In general, the report function of the recruitment module and performance management module is poor. Maybe our corporate system admin has granted us limited access right, but from our experience of managing 1800 users in USA, the built-in report function is not to our satisfactory.
  • Till today we still can't run candidate report that we need for AAP reporting purpose.

I am not the decision maker on this. However, I may be asked for input. I think it would be difficult to transition to a new product so I may want to stay with SuccessFactors just to keep things simple. However, their support for changes or problems is lacking and overall our implementation could have been done much more effectively if we'd had better support. The lack of guidance and flexibility to make changes after implementation is a negative.

The goals module could be a little more straightforward in terms of aligning and linking goals. The employee central is relatively new, so it's been a little buggy and we've had to use workarounds. However, overall I am very satisfied.

If you had asked me before the summer, I would have rated them 10/10 for up time. I am not sure if it was due to the SAP acquisition or not, but we had quite a few significant issues over the summer. Their servers have been bombarded. I know they are setting up new data centers, so some of these issues are supposed to go away. We have had more downtime than I think is acceptable, especially based on past performance.

We had some slow downs in last 6 months because of the server issues. They were experiencing load balancing issues. In previous years we have not had problems. We do batch our appraisals into one time at the end of our fiscal year which is June.

I would rate the support for Employee Central much higher - 9/10. It is a new product and they want people to be successful. For other modules, tech support is abysmal. They made some changes over the summer and last fall and it was really challenging. Their people did not understand the product and they would take an eternity to get back to you. They would make changes that effected other areas of product and they were not aware of it

In reference to the implementation of Employee Central, the consultants were less familiar with certain aspects of product as it's new. I would have liked them to have better handle on all aspects of product as there were some things we had to go back and change. They were however helpful and open to discussion all the time. They were very accessible to us.

Against its competitors, SuccessFactors Talent Solutions is a very simple solution. There are other programs out there that offer a lot more in the way of complex reporting, better allocation of merit and/or bonus amounts. However, as a basic product, I can't really complain. It does that job.
