If you have enough Mac clients working off a server, and they need search, or have been causing issues with Office docs, then this is definitely for you. Even if it's just a few users, the price of a small license is quite reasonable. If you don't have these issues, I wouldn't bother. The Mac does SMB "relatively" well.

For us here in New Orleans hurricanes are of great concern. In the case of [a hurricane] relocating your family from one location to another can be extremely hectic. With inSync we are able to move the data from on system to another with little to no interruption to our workforce.Depending on your business case, it may be appropriate to keep your data close.

Pros

  • Spotlight Search
  • Mac Connectivity
  • Fixing bad behavior of Mac Office, Adobe Apps, etc.

  • The first and foremost thing about Druva is user friendliness for both administrators and users.
  • Easy deployment and upgrades of clients.
  • User is able to recover the data by themselves by using web or client.
  • No performance lagging issues when Druva is installed.

Cons

  • Would love some type of remote administration (web interface, Mac app, whatever)
  • Some logging level between "OH GOD, TOO MUCH" and the "mediocre" default
Ryan Stasel profile photo
  • Initial backups can be lengthy and consume a lot of bandwidth. This is true for any endpoint backup system. Druva has methods of avoiding this (CloudCache) but with our workforce those methods didn't apply, we have too many field/remote users.

We can get immediate support and response. Online chat is also available where technicians are responding immediately. They will carefully listen and understand our issues and then provide the recommendations and actions. Once the issue solved they will follow up to make sure the customer didn't have the issue again and the issue is resolved.

We originally looked into Amazon Cloud, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive to facilitate our backup needs, but the we ran into many problems centrally managing the backups. Each user required their own login ID, they would often forget their password, and the right files wouldn't get backed up. Druva made this easy by managing the user ID's on the IT side as opposed to on the user's side.

Return on Investment

  • Been a great ROI. We wouldn't be able to function without it, given how many Mac users we have.
Ryan Stasel profile photo
  • Positive: Reduces dependency on people, better backup management
  • Cons : Increases cost
  • Recommend to purchase for business
