AdHawk

Despite its shortcomings, AdHawk is a neat, useful tool that provides tactical information for developing solid Facebook ad campaigns. AdHawk is great for managing smaller Facebook Ad budgets. You're able to select a truly actionable guideline in an easy to view format for decision-making. You can really optimize an ad to perform best using the data AdHawk generates

If you have a budget and you are are a Pop Culture type brand with a decent ad budget, I think a Twitter campaign can really help spread awareness about you. Twitter is a giant platform where everyone can get together and talk about what is going on in the world at that moment. There are big wins there if you can tie into it properly. If you're a local business looking for customers, I think your advertising dollars are best spent elsewhere. The traffic you generate is expensive and there are other channels that can be more effective in building your funnel.

Pros

  • Great UI
  • Accurate reporting
  • Strong data points
Stefanie Cash profile photo
  • Clear to use. Not much instruction of reference to documentation was needed in order to set it up.
  • It is easy to navigate especially after making ads and letting them run. The UI is very easy to use and therefore makes it a simple tool for the user.
  • Reporting is good too. We can clearly see how many clicks we are having on our ads and see where to improve.

Cons

  • Ability to look at two campaigns at once (comparative stats)
  • Only available for Facebook or G+
  • No export feature for reporting
Stefanie Cash profile photo
  • They could have more detailed analytics capabilities so things could be analyzed more in depth and more comparatively.
  • They could have more unique options for ad types. As in: display ads would be nice to have as well as customization options.
  • Having the ability to use my own UTM tags for ads would be great too. Maybe this option is there now, but we recently stopped using the product, and hadn't used that option at the time.

Usability

AdHawk10.0

AdHawk is extremely easy to use. Not many buttons to click to get to any area of importance. It's also very clean and sophisticated in design which makes for a pleasant experience. The optimization features even explain to you the value of going with the suggested strategy. Overall, AdHawk is a great software for managing Facebook and Google Ads

The tool is ok to use, and ads are becoming more skippable on Twitter, so we are unsure as a company if it's still a good channel for direct response messaging. It does not perform as efficiently as other social platforms for lower funnel marketing. It does well for awareness campaigns that are set and forget, but optimizing for DR is not as efficient when you are trying to manage the ads on the client side.

Alternatives Considered

AdHawk is far better than the other products regarding how simplified the reporting of ad results are. AdHawk is cleaner and easier to understand. Allows for easy comparing of conversion points within a campaign. Other products are simply not as easy to use. Also, optimization is not a feature available with many services

Of all the social advertising options we've tried, Twitter falls somewhere in the middle - it's not as low-cost as Facebook, but not as effective for our audience either. It's more cost-effective than LinkedIn, but the targeting is not as robust. It's been a good-enough solution to make us continue putting some budget into it, but is not a main driver for us

Return on Investment

  • Ad optimization data
  • Simplified ad management
  • Audience understanding
Stefanie Cash profile photo
  • We've been able to reach some segments of our audience that we might not have otherwise through increased Twitter impressions.
  • We've identified some segments of the audience that are less interested in our offerings based on the engagement metrics provided by Twitter.
  • We've converted traffic at a satisfactory rate to make the investment in Twitter Ads worth our time - we just need to monitor things closely.
