Adobe Experience Manager

Adobe is an enterprise level software that is best suited for large amounts of web content. The entire web management experience is engineered around the author. It is a large solution with many capabilities readily available to you out of the box.

Very well-suited for personalized business needs. Not well suited if you are looking for an "out of the box" tool with templates

Pros

  • Manages web content with an intuitive WYSIWYG authoring experience.
  • Manages Digital Assets used by your website such as images, audio, documents, etc.
  • Creates an simple easy to use experience to generate web content. Centers all web content generation around the author.

  • The support and service from the Sprinklr rep is very good. Our rep is always a phone call or email away and keeps us updated on new platform changes or add-ons that would make our job easier.
  • The Reporting section has a lot of in-depth information that would help any content publisher find out what types of content is performing best for them. It has high level modules that would be easy bits of info to give to a manager or someone in C-level, but there is also a wealth of detailed info for teams to analyze.

Cons

  • A lot of the OOB (Out Of the Box) components are still a little buggy and not fully ready to go without some minor tweaks.
  • Since the software was acquired not too long ago by Adobe, a lot of Adobe integrated solutions are not fully baked yet. That is getting better with time.
Vagner Polund profile photo
  • Training - (This was a strength as well) as an opportunity, in the future I would like to see a well published and regular training program because we tend to turn social employees rather quickly

We had and still have a fantastic experience using Adobe CQ. Lots of flexibility, great integration with other Adobe products we already use and a powerful technology make it a great fit for our corporate environment. Also as the community grows, it makes it easier to network with other developers and users to get new ideas on how to continue to get the best out of the software.

Sprinklr has proven to be a great partner for us, beyond the immediate use of their platform and its functionality. They also have global capabilities and service, which is a critical factor for our business.

Usability

I personally feel that AEM is very intuitive to use from an authoring standpoint. The entire CMS was engineered around the author. Everything about AEM is geared to helping authors generate and maintain content. There are ways that tool tips can be customized so that any individual could simply hover over and be guided step by step on how to author web content

Overall, I really enjoyed Sprinklr. It is a multi-faceted platform although I used it primarily for review management. It's easy-to-use and learn, has great customer service and is a great design. My only complaint would be that if there was a blip in pulling in reviews, we'd have to go back through each review site manually and make sure nothing was unresponded to. This could be cumbersome and time-consuming. Other than that, I really enjoyed using it

99% of the time our team receives solid, timely support from the Sprinklr Support Team. As with anyone, the more info/screenshots you can provide, the better they can help you. They are always quick to respond, professional and do a great job of communicating the status and reaching out if they need more info.

I don't recall our training in detail. I know we met in person a few times, and did some over-the-phone product walk-throughs. It may have been somewhat informal -- I don't recall having any takeaways to refer to.

Implementation

Adobe Experience Manager8.7
Based on 2 answers
Depending on your individual needs, It is really quite simple to create an authoring experience for a website that looks really good. I have been part of many implementations and many teams and have seen many projects that were super successful and others that were not implemented well. AEM has room for a lot of flexibility in the implementation process compared to other CMS like SharePoint

Alternatives Considered

I had no involvement in the selection process of Adobe Experience Manager, however, from a user experience point of view, I would recommend it over other CMS due to its ease of use, user friendliness, and clean appearance. You can look at the pages by listing, or by structure. This makes it so easy to find pages

It is clear that Sprinklr has built from the ground-up. Past tools have been clunky, buggy, lightweight, and promised features that were never delivered. The idea of "moderation" shows that other companies are not thinking in terms of relationships yet. Internal collaboration within other tools was non-existent. Sprinklr rarely has hiccups and has pretty much always delivered on-time or delivered features as a bonus. Feedback provided by clients actually is turned into enhancements. As a client, it feels really good to be listened to and to have needs addressed and problems solved

Always start simple with Sprinklr, e.g. one client. You can easily grow over time adding products/units/regions, etc

Return on Investment

  • Extreme flexibility and speed to publish new pages with as little as a few hours of notice. This allowed us to be more efficient in handling landing pages for lead generation.
  • Powerful technology stack that allows for an infinite amount of customization. New ideas came up as we learned all the capabilities of CQ. It helped us innovate in the way we build and author pages.
  • Poor documentation and small community slowed our initial ramp up and development times until first release. By now this should have improved with the increased popularity.
Fernando Galeano profile photo
  • Sprinklr has reduced the amount of time overall that we spend on social media management.
  • Unfortunately Sprinklr alone has not helped us product a clear portrayal of ROI, but it is one of the tools involved for the success of ROI reporting.
