ClickWebinar

ClickWebinar is great for large meetings with only one or two presenters. If you're planning a collaborative meeting with a smaller group, use another platform that will allow you to all participate via audio/visual. ClickMeeting allows 150+ participants via chat only, so it's best use is for training.

  • very intuitive and simple to use
  • bug-free
  • we are able to formulate it for our needs instead of fitting into someone else's idea of what we need
  • usable across multiple platforms and devices--desktops, laptops, iphones.
  • editing in real time, and several viewers viewing screens from remote locations

  • ClickWebinar allows large numbers of attendees - something that other video-chat or presentation platforms limit
  • ClickWebinar allows for several types of media to be presented, including slideshows, documents, YouTube videos, and polls

Cons

  • entering a single record seems to have to be done across several screens. Perhaps just the way we did it, but would be easier if it were all done on one screen
  • can't figure out how to "hide" a record once one of the people we are visiting dies. We don't want to delete the record, just hide it from the primary view.
  • eventually, it would be great to be able to integrate into Gmail--eg to hit the email address and have that transfer to an email...but perhaps not possible without permission from google...

  • ClickWebinar is glitchy. We've run into a lot of issues with freezing, lack of audio/visual, participants unable to join, etc., even when our internet connections are good and functional otherwise
  • ClickWebinar can be expensive. There are a LOT of options for customization - which is great - but it feels like a lot of little things are, cost-wise, large upgrades

Sometimes, I have to wait a bit longer but I'm on a low priced option so I understand why. Generally, they're able to provide me solutions to my problems as long as I'm not in a rush.

Alternatives Considered

It wasn't until I became aware of Airtable that we found a solution that allows us to implement the best features of a collaborative RDBMS with our staff who don't have any training. I had previously used Zoho Creator and found that it was difficult to onboard new users because of a steeper learning curve.

We selected ClickWebinar based on price, ease of access, and number of participants allowed. Zoom and GoToMeeting were both somewhat comparable in price, although slightly more expensive than ClickWebinar. The main issue with Zoom and GoToMeeting for us was that it required the participants to download something in order to attend, which can deter users in our target demographic. Google Hangouts does not require downloads, but it only allowed 10-15 people per meeting, which meant we couldn't onboard as many people at once.

  • Airtable allows us to significantly reduce staff time required to run a research proposal review process, which has a high positive ROI.
  • With Airtable, we're doing a better job at tracking which research faculty works with each other so we have an idea of collaboration opportunities.
  • Airtable will improve our organization's knowledge retention.
  • Airtable will help us improve the service we offer research faculty by better tracking them as individuals.

  • ClickWebinar has allowed us to onboard/train hundreds more customers/clients per week to use our platform than we used to be able to, which in turn has brought us more revenue.
  • ClickWebinar has been somewhat costly and glitchy, but overall is the best webinar platform that we can find for the price.
