ASG-Remote Desktop

Best for users that have many desktops or servers they need to login to. Great in my environment of multiple clients and the need for fast login and resolution of their issue. If you have a large infrastructure or multiple clients, this is a product you need!

DameWare Remote Support works great for a support desk. I would make sure to ask:What are some built-in support tools the product can provide? Can this tool make it easy to capture a recording of an issue and get that issue recording to the support team?

  • WebHelpDesk Integration: One click in WebHelpDesk will launch the DameWare Remote Support software and connect me with a client in need of assistance. When the session is done, the software allows me to update the ticket right from DameWare.

It's effective and easy. It'll do what you want it to do as long as you don't expect the world. I expect it would be even better if you were a Solar Wind shop; for us this is the only thing we use from them, mainly due to price point on other components

Alternatives Considered

ASG-Remote is very flexible and with so many options available it makes the configuration you want for your setup super simple. Other products do not offer the extra features for database and reporting. As well, it offers all the connection types you can possibly think of. The ability to automate tasks for regular servers and workstations is amazing!

The only product that beats the price is Real VNC. And that does not have the feature set that DameWare includes. Both LogMeIn and TeamVeiwer cost way too much to justify them and you have to rely on a third party service for them to work. With the combination of feature and cost savings, it's almost a no brainier.

There are no limits or restrictions for the number of end-users supported or the number of remote endpoints/computers supported.
