Icinga is a world-class monitoring system. It can be used for most general monitoring situations. It is not a silver bullet, however, and there are instances where domain-specific monitoring systems are necessary. However, the output from those monitoring systems can be funneled into Icinga as a central monitoring and alerting system.
Read full review Pros Support, if you need them they are there and they always have the answers you need. The AI scripting features allow you to really hit the ground running. You can give it a prompt and it will give you a script that will be very close to what you need. All you have to do is polish it up and test it out. I love having the ability to use multiple remote access tools, in the event a machine has an issue with one of them, or if a cloud service goes down, you have a fallback. The shared script library is an amazing resource for troubleshooting and streamlining. The development teams are open to adding features and have done so frequently based on user requests. Read full review Cons Some basic functions need some extra work Some basic things are behind paywalls Feature board is not credible. Ideas taking very, very long to implement Atera has no clear road map SNMP monitoring needs a make over and needs more options Read full review High learning curve, setting up Icinga from scratch can be a bit of a challenge starting out. If the io2db process fails you UI stops updating, which can be very frustrating. There is no simple mechanism for adding new hosts and services through the web UI, it's all very config-file based. As of right now, we have found nothing that can offer as many features as Atera does along with the affordability. They are doing monthly releases each month and not just making small changes (shared scripting library, chocolatey support, Install packages, Splashtop SOS support, Scheduled tickets to name a few). The uptimes are great and accessibility to the dashboard has yet to be limited. We are a happy customer and bordering on fanboy status now

Icinga is a solid solution which does everything it promises. It is backwards compatible with most Nagios instances, making the transition very easy. Once you get the hang of installing new plugins and editing configuration files expanding its monitoring capabilities are easy.

Atera support provides answers to my questions lightning fast. They have never left me feeling like I'm out there on my own. I can ask questions by email, or by chat, or by opening a ticket with them and they are always on it quickly. They also have a forum where other Atera users can help you if you need it, and you can also add feature requests via the forum.

Connectwise is great, no question. But for smaller companies like us, having a technician cost vs a per device cost was the tipping point. We can add as many devices as we want without having to pay for each one. Sometimes when onboarding a new client this can be a huge perk, you might add systems that are going to be quickly retired once you get a lay of the land. Having no extra cost for that, frees you up to analyze every nook & cranny of a network. This has been huge for us.

Icinga is better than
because of its nicer user interface. New Relic can monitor CPU/memory and disk usage, but it's more of a performance and application troubleshooting tool rather than monitoring
Read full review Return on Investment Time is money, and Atera has saved us a significant amount of time in supporting our customers. Before Atera, we would have to walk to the office of where the issue is to be able to fix even the most simple of tasks. And more often than not, it would actually take more time to walk to/from these locations that it took to resolve the issue itself. Now, with the ability of remote support, we can easily jump into a computer and resolve the issue instantly. Atera has also helped us to save money through the integration of Emsisoft Antivirus. Previously we would have to buy a set number of licenses for all of our devices upfront for a whole year, whether we used that many or not. Now with the integration of Emsisoft, we now only have to pay $1 per install per month. We have recently implemented this at our site so we have not been able to determine the exact amount of money saved, but at this rate it is looking like we will be saving thousands!
