Stride works well for those looking for just a communication tool. However, there are a lot of similar programs out there that offer more interesting features without being overwhelming. The simplicity works for and against Stride. Smaller groups would find Stride useful, especially if they are not concerned with the public rooms

Best suited for cultural enhancement, as it provides open communication, good collaboration between each employee and even companies leaderships specially in large company companies where everyone is sitting somewhere. Pros

    Atlassian

    • Stride is great as a chat tool with your team members online.
    • Stride allows us to share documents and files with one another.

    • 2-sided communications - gathering feedback instantly after the communication is released (comments, reactions)
    • recognition (that's the place where we share our top achievements and associates feel appreciated - e.g. it's so cool when CEO can comment that your achievement is important)
    • platform for creative formats to engage associates to our communication (live streams, q&a, achievement posts, etc)

    Cons

    Atlassian

    • Dark theme would be nice
    • Better integrations to 1 on 1 chats, some software only works in group/room chat
    • Platform is going away in a few months, so letting it run longer would be nice.

    • Workplace Chat is not reliable in terms of being able to delete a comment you sent...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
    • When viewing a Workplace Live event after it's over, the comments don't always show all of them and in order, even when you choose that option.
    • Your "status" (on vacation, in a meeting, whatever) is a bit too subtle and easy for folks not to notice. We've created "badges" to use in place of our profile photo as a workaround for that, but it would be nice if Workplace had provided something like that itself.

Having to download multiple apps just to use the tool is very cumbersome. Facebook would have make this better by wrapping it in as a main feature within their app, but having to use multiple apps to see discussions and walls is so frustrating.

Workplace by Facebook is an excellent fit in respect of support and documentation. It has excellent tutorials and documentation, as well. The UI and UX are already great as it is developed and maintained by Facebook, so most of the times, there is no need for any support or documentation.

      Alternatives Considered

Stride falls short in almost every regard. While Stride is affordable, Slack and Ryver offer vital integrations that increase efficiency and are more enjoyable for employees to use. The features of Slack and Ryver that add personalization of chat (private vs. public) also add a layer of efficiency and flexibility that are hard to pass up for the simplicity and affordability of Stride.

I have tried a host of products and found Workplace to be superior to many others based on pricepoint, user interface, features I need and use, and adding some great features I now use. The integration of Live into the Workplace platform is great for team meets, big announcements and an occasional shout out to someone who did something great. Again, the interface is comfortable and that means something when other systems have great features, but no one knows how to use them without going through training after training. Workplace gets you set up and going almost immediately. I tested Clink, Huddle, Trello, Podio (I like Podio quite a bit), ProofHub, and one or two more. I use Trello now and find it to be very useful but very difficult to get comfortable using.

      • It's made it easier to find which employees are assigned to which projects in the company. This used to be a much harder and time consuming task.
      • It's nice to get instant access to the status of projects. This has improved accountability and helps with projects getting done faster.
      • Overall we've seen an uptick in morale and camaraderie in the workplace since using Workplace by Facebook.
