Poorly. FCM was functional, this is not.
Chose Egencia
Egencia didn't hold a candle to any of the other programs I used. Concur was much more professional and intuitive. Upside's customer service was head and shoulders above Egencia's.
Chose Egencia
I think Concur is a step above compared to Egencia. Egencia is not backed up by a company like SAP that enhances the integration and ease of using the app. Otherwise Egencia is doing a good job for mid market companies but it must be hard to scale at an enterprise level.
Chose Egencia
Egencia has the most variety when booking your hotel/flight, as well as the best pricing. We use Airbnb for Work alongside Egencia so that we can book accommodation outside of hotels, but this does not cover the flights. Egencia has it all (flights and accommodation) in …
Chose Egencia
I used another solution which required pending for a consultant to propose options and then waiting for the chosen option to be booked. Contrary to that, in Egencia I searched for the options myself, had the results after short waiting time and was able to finalize the booking …
Chose Egencia
Sorry - I don't have any other experience with other similar products used in businesses.
Chose Egencia
Egencia helps with the management of booking travel without having a centralized travel coordination team. I don't know what other companies were evaluated, but Egencia proved to be a much better solution than allowing employees to book their own travel in the wild. We have …
Chose Egencia
We have used a lot of the online travel sites (Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Hot Wire etc...) primarily for price shopping only. We do not have it set as an option for employees to use those services.
Chose Egencia
It's not even close! Axios was much more difficult to navigate than Egencia. In my opinion, Egencia more closely mirrors travel booking systems we all use outside of work, which makes training much easier for new users. The ability to automatically download calendar invites, …
TripIt
Chose TripIt
TripIt is cheap and easy to use. While the other apps and way more expensive and not so much easy to use at all. Google had a good travel app but for no reason it was discontinued.
Chose TripIt
TripIt is designed specifically to help individuals manage their travel info in one place. Before I used TripIt, I had to manually save my travel info in a Google Drive folder, add flights to my personal calendar, then manage multiple airline apps to get flight alerts. TripIt …
Chose TripIt
I haven't evaluated any others. I have been happy with TripIt so I have not felt the need to find others. I am not really aware of any others. I might eventually looks at others if TripIt stops coming up with enhancements. I have no plans to search yet.
Chose TripIt
I think they are equally useful and I liked using both of them.
Chose TripIt
I've tried google trips and Tripcase in the past, but it doesn't work as smooth as TripIt. They sometimes don't recognize the confirmation emails that I forwarded them.
Chose TripIt
I have not used or evaluated any other tool. Once I forwarded my first email and had it automatically show up in my itinerary, I was sold. There might be some other alternatives worth investigating which I have not used.
Chose TripIt
Earlier in my review, I talked about how my company implemented Concur and offered TripIt as an add-on. While Concur offers a mobile app that gives you some of your itinerary information, it doesn't have the same focus as a "one-stop-shop" that TripIt does. This is why TripIt …
Chose TripIt
TripIt has more features and is easier to use. More user-friendly. The pro version has several other benefits such as the ability to look for alternate flights and track reward points, seating, airport wait times for security, lounge buddy credit, more real-time updates, fares …

Overall, Egencia is a good tool for my employees to use when I (or my work partner) aren't available to make the reservations. They can easily access their account and the charges will go on the corporate credit card. This makes it all around easy for the traveling employees.

TripIt is one of those business apps that, while not strictly required, represents a huge quality of life improvement for those of us who travel regularly for work. Capturing your itinerary information in one place, so you have one point of reference is a great benefit. When you couple that with relevant notifications about your itinerary, and an Apple Watch app for quick at-a-glance information about your travel plans, you really can't beat it. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Egencia is an all-in-one booking tool so you can keep everything in once place.
  • Egencia works with SAML, so it's easy for users to get set up and logged in.
  • Egencia helps keep things in order by preventing bookings without the approval of managers. This can help keep costs low as well.

  • Travel itinerary tracking to see track delays or flight changes (pro version)
  • Seat tracker to nab the best seat no matter what class of air travel (pro version)
  • Time to airport, train station information (pro version)
  • Check in reminder (pro version)

Cons
  • Customer service was awful. It was a running joke that when we had to call customer service for something (frequent), it was a crap-shoot whether we were going to get someone that knew what they were doing.
  • The website was not intuitive and sometimes made it difficult to find the flights we wanted. Most of the admins resorted to looking for flights on other services and then searching for that flight specifically in Egencia.

  • Some addresses sometimes do not load (But this is becoming rare these days)
  • Add some color to the icons (again minor improvement)
  • Ability to create cross destination group trips with different cities to have a full overview of the trip and crossover points

Support Rating
I have not been involved with any product support or troubleshooting; however we had an issue where the app or website were down for some time and they were able to resolve the issue and have it back up and running pretty fast so i would say that overall support is pretty good!

This rating is solely based on information I've gotten for TripIt's self-help options. I've never had to contact them directly for support. Nonetheless, their online FAQ and knowledgebase have provided answers to all the questions I've had, including the lack of a boarding pass feature that I mentioned earlier in my review. All in all, I've had no issues here.

Return on Investment
  • More efficient booking - save time.
  • We can specify when additional approval needs to take place based on perimeters that we set (price, class, etc) - save money!
  • All electronic - bookings all online so have easy access to all staff trips.

  • Comfort of mind is a huge personal positive impact.
  • When a work-related emergency occurred, the co-workers could know if someone would be able to answer a phone call or were in the middle of a flight.
  • No negative impact unless a co-worker didn't use it when traveling - disrupted the team more than we expected.
