It's really well suited for businesses from small to large, and plan options reflect that. It's excellent for keeping customers aware of updates, such as business hours or new additions, and for informing customers of offers. We use it once a month on average to avoid potential spamming.

Zipwhip is well suited for many scenarios. Not only do we save money and time with integrations with other programs we have, but we can follow up with a client regarding a trip, should we need further information. A client makes an online reservation and we receive a notification. While we have most of the trip details, the number portion for the drop-off location is missing, so we can reach out directly to the client via Zipwhip and request this information. All aspects of the booking can be done online and with texting and without emails or calls, which is often what many clients who book online prefer. Zipwhip has improved its images/ photos which is fantastic as we use this to send vehicle images to clients, which helps secure bookings. Our employees also use it to send us images of receipts, vehicle engine warning lights that may come on, and other issues (such as a client who may have left a mess in a vehicle). We're also able to send clients documents too, which is great. Obviously, if we have a client with an issue or who is upset, texting is not the best platform on which to address their issues, but it helps us to assess the situation/ issue and gather information before we call the client in person.

Pros

  • Easy to use web interface.
  • The ability to set up our main business phone to receive texts is fantastic.
  • There are an abundance of features we haven't even explored yet but look forward to doing so!
  • The mobile app is great alternative when a desktop or laptop isn't available.

Cons
CallFire
  • Drafts don't save well, seemed like I kept having to redo the same text because a draft wouldn't save.
  • I want to be able to click and update users quickly, but there were too many steps to add/remove people from lists.
  • The app didn't work if I used google SSO - i couldn't ever get signed in.

  • I would like the quick-use app that pulls from the taskbar to be able to hold more characters- It can only do 250 while the main screen can do 600.
  • The ability to send video through this program would significantly enhance its functionality for us.

We're excited about EZ Texting and what it does for us. We want to get more into automation with campaigns dealing directly with web sales so a more robust solution will likely leave EZ Texting as our event activation partner and only be used during select times of the year.

Usability
CallFire
I think it is straightforward to use. UX is always challenging, and the platform does an excellent job of making it easy enough to use. However, it's not 100% intuitive and takes just a bit of figuring out, so I gave it an 8 / 10. It's easy enough as is, but of course, it could always be better.

It was very easy for users to use, straight forward, and user friendly. The desktop app is very basic but easy to reply to an incoming text, but the user had to know to allow Chrome notifications to see new incoming text via the web browser, which is how they mainly used it.

EZ Texting "gets it"! When I have had something I needed customer service to help me with, they returned my emails and calls promptly. I have a smaller business and they came through as if I was a huge corporate entity. They really care about all sizes of customers!

Implementation Rating
CallFire
The most important aspect of implementation was selecting a valuable keyword. When we first started using EZ Texting, we were able to grab a simple, easy word to use to connect people to our texts. That proved invaluable in our marketing and selling people on using the service. If we didn't have a good word, I would imagine it wouldn't have been as successful.

EZ Texting has a much better user interface and better support. At first I wanted to "pay as you go" so switched from EZ Texting to BulkSMS. BIG MISTAKE. After 2 hours of banging my head against the wall, I went straight back to EZ Texting and paid the little extra monthly and it was like light from Heaven shined down upon me

Zipwhip is just a little bit more user-friendly than AliveChat because it allows you to text people on more scale. AliveChat has a great website chat function, but its texting platform is a little more clunky than Zipwhip. Zipwhip is a little more expensive but definitely the better product.
