Simply doesn't compare. User interface, reporting, time management. All outstanding vs the other product. ADP is nice but not as nice of a user interface and not as intuitive when learning or looking or things. Paylocity has a great user interface but they are not as …
Chose isolved
Very similar platform and super easy to use. A lot comes down to ease of use and cost for my clients. With Paylocity, a lot of things are included where isolved charges extra. isolved and Paylocity are the only systems I recommend to clients and let them choose what will …
Chose isolved
The customer service support level is vastly superior to that of ADP Workforce Now. The payroll reporting functionality is much more robust on ADP Workforce Now's end than that of isolved. isolved is easier to use for both the payroll practitioner and the employees than that of …
Chose isolved
The reporting and user interface is a lot easier in isolved. reporting is better as well.
Chose isolved
iSolved is very user friendly and the reporting is great
Chose isolved
Isolved is the BEST payroll company we have used! Hands down. Very easy to navigate and the payroll process is a breeze.
Chose isolved
Checked most of the boxes. Should have insisted on speaking to references who could speak to implementation and hand-off.
Chose isolved
Each had similarities but our team was familiar with isolved because we had done a conversion 6 months previously so we elected to not switch platforms but selected a new partner. The new user interface in beta currently has a better look and feel.
Chose isolved
The employee self service and ease of payroll processing were significant decision makers. We were transitioning from payroll being completed in house to isolved. The sales team did a fabulous job explaining the comprehensive implementation process and the implementation team …

Paylocity
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity makes Quickbooks look like a dinosaur for payroll processing - and if you're thinking about switching (for payroll only), I would do it! I previously used isolved with a former employer, and their system is much more employer-hands-on, which I prefer. If you're …
Chose Paylocity
So we used isolved previously and then that would be the only admin side of the system that I have experienced with isolved. The UI was definitely not as friendly and this was about two or three years ago. It was just kind of clunky and it just wasn't as user-friendly as …
Chose Paylocity
isolved was fine, but it seemed like we quickly outgrew them. Also they had to update their entire Tax platform and they did not do it correctly, causing our taxes to be filed wrong and late. Their communication was a little lacking and unlike Paylocity - changes were SLOW to …
Chose Paylocity
Easier to work with and Paylocity is more reliable. We had a delayed payroll due to an error made by isolved for which they took no accountability.
Chose Paylocity
In my opinion, isolved was the worst. It wasn't intuitive, running reports was awful and a huge time suck for us. In addition, in our experience, their customer service was horrible. We are still fighting with them about unemployment returns that they were supposed to file from …
Chose Paylocity
Much better than any program we’ve looked at. The ease of use is not even comparable.
Chose Paylocity
Cost and customer service was huge for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the cost. We think we are getting our money’s worth with this product. Customer service has been great with responses. If I have an issue that needs time to research, most of the time I get a follow up …

Chose Paylocity
Paylocity is much better than ADP
Chose Paylocity
Superior mobile app, reporting capability, ease of use for employees to leadership, system administration is simple.
Chose Paylocity
There is no comparison. Every single one of these products are hog-poged and they do not encompass the seamless connection between 401k, benefits, cobra administration, employee / manager training and record keeping, performance and PIP, workforce management, etc. All …
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity definitely provides more HR strategic functions in the base price
Chose Paylocity
I would say Paycor most closely compared to Paylocity, but the reason we left Paycor was because, in our experience, the customer service slipped quite a bit and it became difficult to get help on the phone when we needed it. Paylocity has been much better in this area for us.
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity just seemed to be the most user-friendly on both the employer and employee sides of things. They were also able to work with us more when we had weird requests due to our company still being family-owned. They were able to accommodate all of our needs and requests …
Chose Paylocity
More automation, easier to use, better reporting, more visually appealing, more modules available
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity is much more user friendly. I have used Paylocity in multiple organizations. It is intuitive, it works. There is no guessing as far as where to navigate. The time cards are easy to use and edit as necessary. HR-wise, the onboarding and recruiting functions are also …
Chose Paylocity
The main thing is that we have been using Paylocity for over 10 years, and changing that just isn't in the cards for my staff. Paylocity also has been the most cost effective solution for us.
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity is the best system I have worked on. Both from an admin and employee side, it is the easiest to navigate, most robust in terms of what it offers, and hands down has the best reporting. We had a lot of problems with a previous platform and tax pay, which ultimately led …
Chose Paylocity
Paylocity seemed the most user-friendly and robust system, that fit our budget

We went with Paylocity because of the level of service they provided for a company of our size. Being mid-market, there aren't many options, but I feel confident with our decision for us and our employees moving forward as we continue to grow internally and within different …

I have not yet run into a scenario that isolved is not appropriate. There have been a few specific functionalities that isolved couldn't accommodate, such as paid PTO plans. If employees frequently switch between different legal companies with different EINs, isolved really isn't built to handle that, and we've had to come up with creative solutions.

LumApps
Suited for- It's a great one start shop for information. If you want your data all in one place and easy to access, you cannot beat LumApps for this. It's ease of placing pages across multiple sectors, menu navigation, and org chart integration are lovely. It showcases information and files very well with easy web page design that brings it all together. With only a little bit of training many people can use the product and create content. Less Appropriate- While great at what it does it is still a place to showcase information, not house it. It's not a replacement for Microsoft or Google regarding online file storage. It does not do the storage. It just makes files easy to access if your company houses them already. This same idea applies to Active Directory, it can do a lot of great customization of roles and allow/highlight information for people if they already have great data about people. It is a challenge if the backend data profiles of a person are not already syncing from other systems.

I have already recommended Paylocity to another company and they are using it. The ability to streamline multiple platforms into one is the key feature as it saves time. Also, the speed of loading, the customer service help, and the ease of payroll processing are all reasons why we like utilizing Paylocity. It would be nice to have a referral bonus program as I was told there wasn't one when I referred the company and they signed up

Pros
isolved
  • The payroll processing has been a huge benefit in keeping our weekly payroll process on track and accurate.
  • The COBRA services are very beneficial and we do not have to do any tracking. I appreciate this process is no longer on my duty list.
  • I would say the third id probably the timekeeping. The system is effective for daily tracking and timecard review. The access to the time clock is exceptional with multiple access points. The adjustments for additional pay on holidays has been helpful.

  • Payroll is made pretty easy. I love that we have the ability to log into payroll, we just upload the information from commissions, things like that where there are exceptions to a regular payroll run. It may make it very easy to do that, just a quick upload. Additionally, when we're in the payroll grid, it gives us the ability to just make quick changes to people's pay or their tax schedule, tax withholdings, things like that without having to go through a lot of different screens. It's just very easy to access just for the click of a button. Love that.
  • We talked about performance reviews, talked about payroll with benefits administration, it allows us to utilize EDI feeds with our benefit vendors so it creates a seamless, but we just enter the information into Paylocity and then it seamlessly provides that information to our vendors. That's been really helpful. And adjusting benefits is also very easy within Paylocity. I love the recent edition of compensation analysis information, so I'm able to go into the compensation module and look for jobs that are similar to a job title at our company. I can enter the job description, I give them what state that the person or the job is in, and it pops out compensation data. It gives me different options, so titles that might be similar. So if there's not something that's an exact fit, I'm able to find something really, really close. It's been a huge upgrade because before that I was having to use a different vendor and paying $400 per job and now it's significantly less expensive to Paylocity and I'm still getting great quality data. It's been very helpful.

Cons

  • Reminders/Notes to staff through the app that they have to read to be able to move forward to clock in or out.
  • More key words to search in the library/help desk.
  • Check boxes to delete Reports from the Que, rather than having to delete each one individually would be a nice enhancement!

  • The editing user interface is a bit wonky and occasionally glitchy.
  • The back-end options are not organized super well, which can make it confusing to find the right settings.
  • The customization options are somewhat limited without advanced CSS/dev skills, and the basic functions can be a bit challenging for some non-technical users.

  • I'd like to see a forum in which users could discuss the platform, raise both questions and concerns. I feel that changes are done without enough input from users.
  • Improving hold time recently with customer service.
  • Accuracy of new 'graphic' payroll report - the new report is not complete when payroll is done, so it is unusable from my perspective. I rely on the preprocess payroll register. This is one of those 'improvements' that have not been positive in my experience.

I simply love Paylocity! We have run into some issues, but no company is going to be perfect. The flow of the modules is really nice, no double entry of data. The Time & Labor flows into Payroll nicely and Benefits flows into the employees Pay Setup which goes onto the employees paycheck with little to no issues.

They are very responsive and they have support for the specific issues. Clients receive a dedicated Support Representative with a back up dedicated support team. The system was very cumbersome setting up as well as time consuming. There were times I just wanted to walk away and sometimes I did have to get up and walk away for a break and come back with a fresh perspective. The setup took me over a period of two to three months getting it to serve the purposes that we needed it two. I am very intuitive when it comes to computer software however getting all the right buttons checked in order for it to do what I needed didn't always work.

Alternatives Considered
isolved
isolved provides a system and capabilities right at the sweet spot for our organizations. It is not overly complex and feature laden as to make it confusing and complex. On the other hand, it is fully functional and effective at the core requirements of HR and payroll without requiring additional work outside of the system. All of the systems we have previously considered or used were with limited on functionality or prohibitively expense and complex.
