Oracle ERP Cloud is very good for planning and procurement. The ability to train people quickly and have them able to configure the screens for their preference and make them feel valued is huge. Its not just a screen where they have to deal with it. Cycle counting, receiving and inventory management are very clear and without much confusion.

Sage CRM

Only having one primary contact can cause issues for companies who are more specialized and custom. We deal with many people throughout the company so this can cause issues on trying to figure out who to contact. Creating advanced custom screens are also rather complicated and many times would require outside work to complete.For retail it is much more simplistic and easy to use. Storing all customer information along with communication info is simple.

  • Financial management will be significantly enhanced, today we are using multiple systems, reports, manually created Excel spreadsheets to track project financials, create invoices, etc. Moving to the Cloud is going to greatly enhance our analytics and reduce or eliminate manual redundancies
  • Leveraging work flow capacity for resource requests will also save us a lot of time and energy in trying to help the project managers find the correct resources managers and helping resource managers understand what their employee's capacity and skills are for the type of work.
  • Being able to assign resources to detailed tasks in the work plan but only have to submit time to a higher level parent task may not sound like a big deal but it's a game changer for us. this eliminates the need for us to track a more detailed plan outside of the tool, this will help project managers plan better and have more control over hours spent on certain tasks.

  • SAGE CRM is a very clean and easy to use interface and easy to navigate around. Users seem to instantly understand with very little training where they are in the system, which is not always true of other system we have used in the past. The Key sometimes is removing 'clutter' for that user.
  • Sales and Sales Manager tend to find it is very intuitive and since it is flexibly with its design, we have created various extra option to improve sales peoples management of Contracts, Events and even Samples, saving and eliminating multiple spreadsheets.
  • Case Management and workflow capabilities together with the ability to offer Self Service and embed into your website has been very powerful and a number of client have found this can save them tremendous time. Adding in automatic notifications through a powerful workflow capability can save hours of time for the Users
  • Flexible Reporting using a wizard approach means that the system is easy to train on and for users we find that they embrace this even more since they feel an ownership for the CRM system, something that all CRM User aspire too.
  • Flexible licencing and Editions. Not always well known, but SAGE CRM has two editions (somewhat confusing) the Cloud or SAGE CRM.com doest use the same naming convention, but these are Standard And Advanced Editions. However, in particular, there is a Concurrent Licence option, albeit at a premium, but we once saved a client over £14000 on a 50 user system when they migrated to SAGE CRM Concurrent from their existing Named Licence CRM system, paying for the complete migration in year One

  • This may be my own ignorance, but I've found that trying to teach less computer savvy people these programs is difficult. It's definitely a powerful program/storage solution, but we have yet to be able to integrate everyone as the interface seems like too much detail for them. So buyer beware.
  • If I'm being honest, a large con for me was the cost. Our company pays a lot of money for these programs and luckily we utilize it but I would warn that anyone who embarks on this journey, truly use it to its capabilities, not just as a cloud based excel program.
  • For my company specifically, The ROI module as become the least used tool we have. I wouldn't say there's anything too specific that turns us off of it, but we have other methods and these ROI calculations do not account for some of our contract styles, specifically PPPs.

  • One of the areas that Sage CRM is different is the way that Appointments and Tasks are delivered to the user in the interface. This presents a challenge in the way that most people utilize a Calendar in their daily execution. Many companies want to see a color coded Calendar for multiple team members and this is provided through a 3rd party.
  • Executing workflow through the mobile device is another area that users have requested. With such a strong workflow and escalation engine extending to the mobile interface would be groundbreaking in the CRM industry.
  • The data loading tools also need some work. In today's world we often extend the platform for unique entities and today we use 3rd party tools for any data migration besides basic customer and contact information.

Oracle applications users group is a good starting point to learn about best practices and learn how other companies are leveraging the product.Oracle has built the product ground up using the latest technology. The product has the best features of all the companies oracle acquired in the last 10 years. Oracle has the highest portfolio of products in the market. You name a module, oracle has it. All these modules are tightly integrated and spread sheet friendly.

Several users were reluctant to use Oracle Cloud, but once they dived in and learned how easy it was to create, view, and close their request they were ecstatic. The application is used by big banks like HSBC is a testament to its reliability. I did not hear or experience any outages.Oracle is in the hosting business since long. In its previous avatar, it used to be called as Oracle on demand. So oracle has enough experience and expertise in hosting and managing customers applications in their datacenters.Oracle is the only major company which has platform as a service, database as a service and software as a service product offerings on the cloud.Hence customers can rely on Oracle as many major fortune 500 companies do.

Sage works very quickly based on the network you are using it on. It is internet based so if your network is slow, it will perform slowly. Reports seem to run reasonably fast, if there is too much information it is trying to populate that could slow it down a little. When Sage CRM is integrated with a Sage ERP product it doesn't tend to slow down either system at all

In person training will make people sit in a class and do the exercises. We bought online training subscription from Oracle University. The subscription allowed our team to learn the nuts and bolts of the application.The subscription model helps access to all the modules as opposed to buying training for one module. We also leveraged guided learning subscription from Oracle. Guided learning is a state of the art learning application from Oracle. It resides within the application and guides the users on each and every step. This is learning by doing and is very effective.Once you buy guided learning, oracle keeps updating it with the release of new functionality in the quarterly upgrades.

Although we had some hiccups during the implementation, overall I believe it was a success. Some lessons learned, maybe don't migrate open po's or contracts to the new system, start fresh. Other things, be sure everyone understands their role in the application and how to support it. We did spend some time going back and forth because we weren't sure who was responsible for the action. Otherwise, I would say we were successful and to date we are still working through some issues; but, the system is working beautifully.

The implementation and upgrades were rather quick and straight forward.Attempting to link Sage CRM with Sage 100 ERP however was a nightmare and will be avoided by us in the future due to numerous issues.

Oracle Cloud ERP

Oracle Financials is a better fit for companies utilizing applications from numerous providers or other Oracle products. It integrates very well. SAP is also a robust product but functions better in conjunction with other SAP modules and products. Oracle Financials can be set up with minimal configuration for clients whose business processes align with the package, or who have the ability to adjust their processes to fit an out of the box implementation. Oracle Financials and SAP are both highly configurable and customizable platforms but Oracle's product is more robust and ready to use as delivered

Sage CRM

I have evaluated and implemented MS Dynamics CRM from a business perspective, and more recently Salesforce.com CRM as an administarator. Sage was more intuitive than Salesforce, and also less expensice than both of them. At that time, I used Sage CRM because the company I was working with had purchased Sage ERP. However, they never implemented it, but I did implement Sage CRM almost by myself. It is a great tool to manage sales process and marketing campaigns.

Some of the applications like revenue management cloud service for subscription based busineses are also available.

  • The complexity of the system has sometimes increased the amount of time necessary to complete needed analyses and presentations.
  • Assuming the coding is done correctly, using the Excel add-in Smart View allows us to create custom analyses and dashboards.
