AB Tasty is a SAAS application created for e-marketers that enables them to optimize their website and conversion rate without technical knowledge. They can test several versions of their pages to identify which one has the biggest impact on their business objectives, e.g. click-through rate on a call to action button, add-to-cart rate, global conversion rate of their website.N/A

Considered Both Products
AB Tasty
Chose AB Tasty
I think AB Tasty is more advanced, has less limitations and helps you get your experimentation programme up and running. It is also very cost efficient in comparison too, making it an ideal choice if a business doesn't have a large amount of budget or is on the start of their …
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty is the king when it comes to cost/benefit. It is not the cheapest but not the most expensive. It is a very advanced tool and we like the fact of not having to pay extra fees for more advanced features that we may only use for one test. Also, the chat support …
Chose AB Tasty
We selected AB Tasty as the support is way better than the WYSIWYG editor. We will still work with AB Tasty as in the addition to the solution because a lot of support is provided (roadmap, workshops, evangelization, etc).
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty is more of a marketer's tool. It's much better when it comes to QA, handly and reliable. There is a great customer support chat available in 5 minutes.
Chose AB Tasty
We decided on AB Tasty as there were numerous features at this time that other providers did not offer and we felt like being on the right track for the upcoming years and challenges. Also, the price was for sure one of the criteria. AB Tasty offered an attractive package …
Chose AB Tasty
Privy showed our websites down and was very limited. It's great to be able to use ab tests and have more options without loss of speed
Chose AB Tasty
The product roadmap is interesting. Support is quite professional. Features are very useful.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty is great, probably the best optimizing tool you can use. Easy, loads of features, great support from CSM. Great variation editor whereas Monetate and VWO don't have a lot of features/widgets. Optimizely is good but again not a lot of capability without a dev. Whereas …
Chose AB Tasty
We did test couple of platforms before decision, but A/B Tasty support alreasy on Proof of Concept phase was exceptional and price was reasonable, so the decision was fairly easy.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty is much more affordable and provides very similar results. We are happy we made the switch and have seen the same success we had with other platforms on AB Tasty.
Chose AB Tasty
VWO & Optimizely, in my opinion, are for large corporations. They're expensive and very limiting.
Chose AB Tasty
We have not used the AB Tasty heat maps or user recording feature so I'm not too sure how they stack up. As for SiteSpect it is a more intricate testing platform that uses the cloud to run tests, however, it's much more expensive and I think AB Tasty gives more bang for your …
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty has very aggressive pricing and a simple-to-use toolset. We feel that AB Tasty gives us what we need and the other vendors don't provide additional value to justify the cost.
Chose AB Tasty
We selected AB Tasty mostly because we got a sense that their dev and customer service teams were going to go above and beyond to help us out. We were right! The cost was also a factor as they came in a small bit lower, but cost wasn't the only factor.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty is far more affordable than most of them, but with the same functionality and better reporting (reporting looks similar to Optimizely). Monetate requires an agency or a dedicated CRO team to manage and run tests, and is best for large companies with a lot of traffic …
Chose AB Tasty
Optimize does not support SPAs, it was a deal breaker for us. AB Tasty supports it very well.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty isn't as sophisticated or advanced as Monetate. The analytics section in Monetate is fabulous. But AB Tasty is great for smaller companies with a smaller budget. And the AB Tasty support has been better.
Chose AB Tasty
We selected AB Tasty over other leading A/B Testing platforms due to its huge list of features, dedicated account support and competitive licensing model.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty has a good price/quality ratio. They are the European leader and have a good reputation. We were satisfied with them so we kept them.
Chose AB Tasty
AB Tasty shares data with many analytics solutions as Google Analytics or At Internet solutions
Chose AB Tasty
Crazy Egg was mainly only used for heat mapping, which it does really well. I haven't used Google Optimize too much yet but it has most of the same functionality as A/B Tasty. Google Analytics is more used for reporting and a deeper look into data. AB Tasty by far has the best …
Chose AB Tasty
It's a different tool - and could probably borrow some of the UI and ease of use from the other tools, but excels in providing prebuilt functionality and more detailed targeting. It also needs a lot more learning - when the other tools are pretty much pick up and go.
VWO
Chose VWO
As I mentioned, VWO is a great all-in-one tool that lets clients research & test all within one tool. It's a little on the expensive side so it might not deliver the desired ROI for smaller clients and can also encourage the small clients to run small, insignificant A/B tests …
Chose VWO
We used to use Proof, but when we then stacked them up against VWO, VWO had some additional functionality and integration capabilities that Proof did not have which gave us greater ability to do some more website experimentation and personalisation options. VWO integrates with …
Chose VWO
VWO is by far the easiest tool to use among all experimentation tools. It is like the experimentation tool for dummies and works as well as the others. A highlight would be the reports on every test because compared to the others, in VWO is way much easier to understand the …
Chose VWO
I haven't used other products like VWO
Chose VWO
Basically, they have the same features but VWO is much cheaper than the paid version of optimize. If you don't need to do more than 5 experiments at a time, then the free version of Optimize is great. If you do need to be able to do more than that, then VWO is a great …
Chose VWO
Vs. Google optimize VWO is much better:
* Setting up a test, the GUI is much better.
* Performance (loading times) is better, improving conversion rates.
Chose VWO
Optimizely Data Platform (formerly Zaius)
Chose VWO
I did not evaluate all of the other software choices in this decision, but my understanding is that VWO is best in class to optimize website experiences.

The competitors that might be worth checking out: Google Analytics, Unbounce, Instapage, Evergage, Landingi, ion Interactive …
Chose VWO
A unified tool where all data points are shared across the different features is a much-preferred option.
Chose VWO
While there are many free or cheap options for A/B and multivariate testing out there (and we have tried several), VWO provides the right balance between cost and capability for our agency. That, and the level of customer service provided when we need it makes VWO our choice …
Chose VWO
VWO is much more flexible, more affordable, and is easier to implement. We also appreciate how responsive and helpful VWO customer service is.
Chose VWO
We evaluated Optimizely, but for our specific needs VWO fared better, so we chose that.
Chose VWO
We use VWO not in competition with, but alongside other tools, as we believe a mixture is the best recipe for success. Hotjar is a slightly different offering and has some very strong heatmap/ journey mapping capabilities. We tend to use it for that, with the insight feeding …
Chose VWO
There are significant differences in each platform when it comes to optimizely and vwo. From a functionality and performance perspective they each have their pros and cons. It is important to go through the feature sets of each and ensure the solution you select will work …
Chose VWO
I used Google Optimize when it had just launched. It was therefore not yet a competitor to VWO. I haven't used it in roughly half a year time, so a lot has probably changed.

I still use Hotjar for certain features that VWO offers, but which I think function better in Hotjar. I …
Chose VWO
VWO has worse usability and isn't as flexible as the other platforms. Also, the insight that Qubit and Optimizely generates is actually accurate and can be used compared to the reports that VWO provide.
Chose VWO
We enquired and looked into using Optimizely and Qubit before deciding on VWO.
All appear to be great tools that would have done the job required, however, when compared, we didn't hit the level of traffic for Qubit to consider a partnership, and Optimizely was a lot more …
Chose VWO
VWO is much better than others at providing an easy way to run tests and gather data, but we do currently supplement it with Hotjar for better heatmap tracking and detailed visitor tracking. We also use Google Analytics for general traffic sourcing and behavior, as well as …
Chose VWO
We sometimes use the 'split URL' part of VWO if we have a larger test and want to test sending traffic to two different page variations.
Chose VWO
I was not involved in optimizely, nor did we implement it outside a free trial I believe, but VWO seemed to do generally the same things with a lower cost, though I could be mistaken.

I have used qualtrics in the past. It is very good for survey creation and logic. I know some …
Chose VWO
We enjoy being able to pause and edit tests whenever we want. There are also a lot of additional functionalities on VWO, like recordings.
Chose VWO
VWO is way more comprehensive and powerful. We selected VWO because of multiple factors including pricing, capabilities, and last but not least, support. It's quite important to be able to liaise with the platform when building tests.

AB Tasty and VWO are both A/B testing tools designed to help businesses to test the performance of different versions of web content. Both A/B testing tools are used by businesses of all sizes, though both are slightly more popular with small to mid-sized businesses compared to larger enterprises.

Features

VWO and AB Tasty both include essential A/B testing features such as split testing and heatmaps, but they also each have standout features that set them apart from each other.

VWO is praised by users for its simple to use interface that can be used by businesses without many technical resources to devote to it. Nontechnical users have an easier time learning to use VWO compared to its alternatives. VWO also includes fully customizable user surveys out of the box. Lastly, VWO provides robust reporting tools so users can easily present any findings from their tests.

AB Tasty provides local customer success managers to businesses that require hands-on support. Additionally, AB Tasty includes a testing API that allows users to create highly customized tests that may not be available out of the box. Lastly, AB Tasty includes a widget library that allows users to quickly make changes to web content.

Limitations

VWO and AB Tasty both include robust testing features, but they also have a few limitations that are important to consider.

VWO has live support, but doesn’t offer local success managers. Businesses looking for more hands-on support will not be well served by VWO’s support options. Additionally, VWO doesn’t include a testing API. While the testing features VWO offer are powerful and varied out of the box, businesses looking to create highly customized tests may prefer the flexibility offered by AB Tasty’s test API.

AB Tasty’s interface isn’t complex to use, but it isn’t as simple as VWO and may require more technical resources comparatively. Additionally, while it is possible to create custom surveys with AB Tasty, it is through integration with Google Forms rather than an out of the box functionality. This can be an issue for organizations looking for an all in one solution or who cannot use Google Forms for any reason. Lastly, AB Tasty’s reporting features are not as robust as VWO’s, so additional reporting tools may be needed for organizations with complex reporting needs.

Pricing

VWO starts at $199.00 per month, but also offers two packages for larger businesses. These additional packages do not have open pricing information, but sales teams can reach out for a quote.

AB Tasty is priced depending on the business and doesn’t provide published pricing information.

A/B Tasty tool allows us do easy testing without burdening our limited developer resources all the time. Reports are simple enough to interpret. Support has been excellent and proactive, also the onboarding was successful. It is also an advantage that we have the possibility to drive all our traffic to the test versions rather than being limited to specific user amount per month. We can recommend A/B Tasty for testing purposes, as the platform keeps it’s promises, doesn’t require too much technical knowledge and the support is excellent.

Our marketing team does a lot of creative testing around messaging and imagery. VWO is well suited for this type of testing and can yield great results if you define your conversion goals correctly. However, when we have tried to do more substantial/advanced changes through VWO (such as re-positioning content or modifying elements in a form), we have had some challenges and not been able to get the desired tests working correctly.

Pros
  • Easy setup - Simple script insertion into site header.
  • Intuitive interface - It took very little training for our team to understand how to start running A/B tests. The reporting is much more comprehensive, yet easily digestible than other platforms we have used or considered. Confidence scores, flexible KPI inclusions/tracking allow us to understand the results or non-result quickly and with clarity to make decisions on next steps.
  • Customer support - Our CSM and tech support are always helpful and proactive when a question or issue arise. Our CSM keeps us on track when an idea might have dropped off the map due to other priorities, and brings great ideas to the table. We enjoy our monthly touchbases with her when we get to see new functionalities, how other clients successfully used them, and brainstorm ways we can use them for our experience.

  • VWO has a strong support team willing to help provide answers to questions during the setup process. During setup, we had some questions regarding implementation across a significant number of sites and they were able to ease dev team concerns and provide detailed best practices to streamline integration.
  • Some of the initial results of a few of the initial tests raised some questions internally. We setup a call and were able to quickly address the questions and find some opportunities to leverage moving forward.
  • I discovered a bug within the UI that lead to some questions internally. I was able to report it and the problem was fixed rather quickly and their team followed up with a thank you for reporting it and to report the issue was now resolved.

Cons
  • Sometimes when you're preparing a test the editor "crashes" and you need to re open it. It's just a matter of having to go back to the main dashboard a few times during your preparation.
  • Maybe to have the option to have pre-build templates of pages, buttons and assets that we can use to test experiments.

  • The heatmaps within A/B tests are overlayed on the live website. Unfortunately, these don't work properly when scrolling down the site.
  • I am missing an overview of all my custom conversions. I can only see a list of frequently used goals while setting up an A/B test, which may or may not include all custom conversions.

AB Tasty's tool as well as the support team completely met my goals on A/B Testing. Editing a test is really easy and AB Tasty made the marketing team free to launch nearly any test. Reporting is also easy to set up and give us the information needed to keep improving transformation on landing pages and forms

Visual Website Optimizer is a easy to use and powerful tool for testing web pages. We use it to test lead generation websites to increase the number of people that complete a form. Before we decided to go with Visual Website Optimizer we did research into other options and found Visual Website Optimizer to be one of the best.

Usability
The tool’s usability is excellent, with a smooth and intuitive interface. It is continuously updated with new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience. Setting up experiments and personalizations is straightforward, thanks to a well-structured process that even less experienced users can easily follow. There are sometimes small issues with the QA section which slows the QA process but it is so much better now compared to 2024.

Overall VWO is quite good with general user usability, and every person who has had to take up the mantle of using the tool itself has found it manageable. However there is definitely some room for improvement - again, perhaps this is particularly the case because we are running a large number of tests in a number of different languages (and markets, and countries!) which requires a lot of upkeep.

VWO doesn't appear to slow down our website at all, though some customers with adblockers like UBlock Origin have been known to not see entire pages if VWO is making changes to the page at a macro level (background, font, etc). This is rare though.

Support Rating
Support is good, but it would be better if it was quicker or if AB Tasty provided a quicker SLA. At times, you require stuff urgently but AB Tasty support isn't as quick as I personally like it to be.

While their online document support is lacking a simple email to their support team will almost always get responded to the next day. It has however taken more than one email to explain the problem to the support team till they understood the problem. The solution I was given also only half fixed the problem the rest I figured out on my own.

Online Training
There is a vast amount of training available on their online platform, including their university area of which you can get certified for (and then share this with your connections on platforms such as Linkedin). There is also specific hand created training which can be provided by your customer success manager if that is requested by yourself.

Training was good, just limited to the onboarding process. They walked through all of the steps it takes to get started in VWO and each of the modules, along with giving us ideas for starting our first test. I feel like it could be better if there was a guided process within the VWO program to continue to educate you along the way, and a way to turn that off for experienced users.

Implementation Rating
No answers on this topic
Overall, the implementation of VWO is straightforward. If you've got a straightforward way of deploying code to all of your test pages, either a good CMS or a TMS, then implementation should be a breeze. There is no tweaking to be done to the code itself, and once deployed it has the flexibility to cope with different VWO modules (tracking, conversion analysis, session analysis) without modification.

VWO is by far the easiest tool to use among all experimentation tools. It is like the experimentation tool for dummies and works as well as the others. Scalability
No answers on this topic
The product seems infinitely scalable for our needs (small business) and we've never had any issue with loading VWO-edited elements. I will say, though, that online customers with ad blockers have been known to not see certain VWO elements as their third-party scripts are disabled.

Return on Investment
  • This past year we improved our new visitor conversion rates by 73% with very little increases in our ad spend. We've been able to test quickly and infer how those experiments impacted lead generation. Experimentation is all about continually learning and testing.

  • Our clients have seen significant increases in engagement and conversion rates through changes we recommended after using VWO to test our hypotheses.
  • Our clients and internal teams have appreciated the level of granular detail available within the platform, as more information leads to more reliable optimization suggestions.
