What is Scale Computing Platform?

Scale Computing offers edge computing, virtualization, and hyperconverged solutions for customers around the globe. Scale Computing HyperCore software promises to eliminate traditional virtualization software, disaster recovery software, servers, and shared storage, replacing these with a fully integrated, highly available system for running applications. The vendor says that, using patented HyperCore™ technology, the SC//HyperCore self-healing platform automatically identifies, mitigates, and corrects problems in the infrastructure in real-time, enabling applications to achieve maximum uptime even when local IT resources and staff are scarce. So far we have had nothing but excellent support on every issue we have encountered in our two years of running Scale in our company. If you call support, you usually get someone on the phone within a few minutes of hold time, which is a big win for us.

The scale platform is resilient and reliable. Scale's technicians offer excellent support for both the initial configuration and any issues that emerge once the system is in production. Scale also has a robust partner network for assistance with design, implementation and post purchase support.

Overall, the product has been great, so we have required little support. That said the majority of the support we received was on point. The service is very much designed to take the burden off of the IT department.

On the other hand, an issue we had with data not de-duplicating took a long time to be answered, and the answer was not what we hoped for (the "de-duplication" Scale uses really is designed just for their built-in snap-shots). Also, scheduling for the initial setup was quite painful, it seemed they assumed our IT staff didn't really know anything about IT sometimes, and the process could be streamlined.

The technical support we received before, during, and after the migration was outstanding. We had set appointment times with a knowledgeable technician. He was able to answer any questions we had, walked us through the process for the first migration and was available after for any questions or problems that arose.

Scale's support is great. They quickly answer by phone, and are easy to understand. The remote tool is built into their software, so you can quickly give them access to see your configurations.

My only desire is I miss the support options I had with Dell. I keep my servers for a long time and used to purchase them with a 7 year warranty. Scale follows a more standard 5 year warranty. Dell also has an extensive support network and we purchased the 4 hr repair warranty for a Dell technician to come and repair within 4 hours. Scale only dispatches parts by NBD mail, so you must have a technician or contractor on-site to make the repair.

Every time I have called for support I quickly get online with a technician that has been able to solve my problems. They are all easy to understand and know their product well. I love the easy way they can connect into the system and the security of being able to turn that on and off as needed.

Scale’s support is quick to respond, knowledgeable, has no problems digging into very complex issues and have the goal of problem resolution. They aren’t getting you off the phone or out of their email queue they are helping you solve your problems and find the right solutions to make sure their products function as intended or better.

Any and I mean any time I have had even the slightest issue I have found an actual human in the states answering the phone and helping to resolve the issue quickly. It is rare that I have stumped them and at best only for an hour or two.

In our organization we are particularly sensitive and sticklers when it comes to support. Support is a driving factor for all of our decision-making. I have experienced situations where we have selected (or passed on) a vendor/product/service due to the quality of support being offered. Scale Computing offers great support. I have participated in post-support surveys and engaged with support administrators that were open to recommendations and communicated actively. The support staff is, generally, very attentive and diligent. I have not experienced any excessive wait times for support, nor any disgruntled support specialists.

Support is great in that they are easy to get a hold of and always available. We have found the level of expertise is growing, but not fully polished. They have a lot of staff who are still learning without having a solid foundation of the basics. Overall we are happy with them, but looking forward to a more seasoned staff in the near future.

90% of the time I called support they are very helpful and will handle the issue cradle to grave. They were very responsive.
During implementation I would suggest to raise issues through your project manager vs direct to support as they have more intimate knowledge of your system and can guide you better through the issue.

I was communicating with the Scale support team. I had a difficult time making a decision about some features. I contacted the team, and in less than 24 hours they gave step by step instructions on what to do. This is very important especially in an environment that needs things to be set up correctly from initial configuration.

Support has been excellent. Sales staff, sales engineers, and actual support reps have all been excellent. Getting support staff securely connected to your cluster for troubleshooting or questions couldn't be easier because it only takes one click.

The support team is wonderful. They are quick to answer and you don't have to spend a lot of time authenticating your account before speaking with an engineer. They generally have quick solutions to issues and are very knowledgable about the product. This makes sense since they are basically there to administer most back end functions of the system.

Support has been perfect so far. Always available. The remote control and assistance help is bar none amazing and so much easier than the competition, making everyone else look like a joke. It's not inexpensive support, but amazingly great value for what you get. I cannot buy similar support for any of the devices we have except maybe Cisco and Verizon. Scale matches or exceeds support offered anywhere.

The few times I have needed help, the support staff is quick to respond and very knowledgeable. Opening a connection for the support staff to get into your system is very quick and easy. I have even had the support staff call me a day or so after just to make sure the issue was fully fixed before they close it out on their end.

Quick to answer support tickets, helpful and patient, the Scale support team is top notch. I haven't had any issues with support, they can dial in and are willing to help in any way possible. I haven't had anyone get flustered with me yet! On support alone I would recommend this product.
