Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now
ADP Workforce Now is used globally as we have an office in North America and London. We use it to track time-off, conduct performance appraisals, recruitment, maintain salary information and employee personal information.
- Benefits - We use the system to track employee benefits, as well as, allow new hires to enroll and make changes during a life changing event. It also connects with our carriers such as dental, vision and life insurance and allows for automatic feeds so we do not need to manually input the information in each provider manually.
- Time-Off - Our employees use this to track their time off and maintain their balances. It is nice to be able to choose whether you want to view it in hours or days, It is also convenient that once the time is approved the employees receive a calendar invite of the dates they requested so it can easily be marked on their calendars.
- Performance Appraisals - The system makes it easy to track deadlines and for you to see who has not completed it. It sends notifications to those effected if they are past a certain deadline and can be escalated to their manager automatically as well if they are past due.
- Talent (Recruitment)- While a majority of this works good there are definitely some areas for improvement with this feature. I think the biggest issue we personally face is sending out documents through to the employee via ADP. When the employee electronically signs the offer letter and/or agreement there is no actual signature on the form and it is blank. The system just tracks that it was signed but shows no proof of it. We get audited every year and have been asked for signed copies of these forms so we have to print out the forms and have the new employee sign it again when they arrive. Which is inconvenient for both HR and the employee.
- Audit Trail - I recently had poor experience with this feature in the system. I needed to look up which administrator made a change to an employee's job title which was not easily accessible. I had to run this lengthy report which took about 10-15 minutes to process. When I opened the report it was difficult to search or find the information I was looking for and when I did locate the information it did not provide any details I needed such as what the original item was and what it was changed to and when. In a previous system I used, I was able to see the history audit trail right on the employee's profile and it showed me all the information I needed immediately and there was no report needed to be run.
- Time Off - While the main purpose of this function works really well it does have some flaws. We want the employees to be able to see their teams calendars as well for project tracking and to know when they can or cannot take off. It also doesn't show holidays correctly in the calendar view. It marks it as a blackout day, however, the system will still allow employees to request the day off. Unfortunately, I found out later on that we needed their time & attendance feature in order for the above mentioned features to work. I feel that the items I mentioned above are related to time-off and should not require you to have an additional feature just for this purpose. We have our own internal T&A and do not need this function in ADP so it is frustrating that we would need to purchase this to get the other features related to time off to work properly.
- Cost - Switching from our previous HRIS to ADP has definitely provided us with a significant cost savings. You certainly get more for your money with the system.
- Usage - Unfortunately, with our previous HRIS we had difficulties getting our employees to use the system. They did not think it was user-friendly and it didn't always provide accurate data so it ended up being a lot of manual work from HR perspectives to get everything in the system as it should be. However, with ADP our employees really seem to enjoy using it and we do not have to push or send reminders anymore. It has allowed for us and the employees to make better use of their time and is a more effective system overall.
Our HR team has saved time, but I'm not sure how much.
ADP Workforce now it is an overall better system then Paycom. Paycom was essentially a glorified spreadsheet minus all the functions you can do in a spreadsheet. The layout and ability to change the look and feel of the homepage is just one of the many things we noticed that Paycom did not offer. The ability to view dates in European format was a huge deal for our company and we weren't able to do that in Paycom. Employees can now decide to choose which format they want to view it in which is big plus. In Paycom, balances didn't update until the payroll was processed and if the employees didn't get their requests in on time then their balances would be incorrect and HR had to go in and manually correct this each month. ADP updates the employee balance in real-time which has made the process that much more easier for HR.
