Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
BigCommerce is our primary interface for interacting with our customers. Everyone uses the platform to look at analytics, sales, orders, and to plan pricing strategies, etc. As a small company--but true for companies of any size--it’s crucial that we are able to be efficient and effective in dealing with customer orders and planning sales.
- We love the apps that are available to integrate seamlessly with BigCommerce.
- Up-time
- Occasionally, we have to add an order manually to the system (for an older customer). The payment feature of that can be a bit kludgy.
- We would like to see even more financial impact tools native to the app.
- We appreciate the efficiency--anyone can see and manage orders end-to-end.
- Speed of how order flows from BigCommerce to ShipStation has helped us catch USPS same-day for many more orders, which results in much higher customer satisfaction.

We have not had the need yet to utilize the open APIs in BigCommerce but are very happy with a variety of integrations offered, many of which are included in the price of BigCommerce. Use of QuickBooks integration speeds up tax time; we love Avalara to keep us on top of complex sales tax calculations for online sales; and ShipStation is one of our favorites.
We signed up with Shopify before BigCommerce but found we weren’t able to automatically sync inventory during/after farmer’s markets and faires.
We had a lengthy experience with Lightspeed Retail, which we used as the POS in our brick/mortar for a long time, but the cost was high and the features were lacking vs BigCommerce when we closed the physical location. That is why we went on a significant research/trial phase to find a new home.
