Overall Satisfaction with Canto

Canto is being used to organize photos and other assets by the Marketing Department. Employees often request photos from specific jobs or doing a specific task and we use Canto to organize and tag the photos for specific requests. This saves us space on our internal servers and makes the photos searchable.
  • Tagging photos.
  • Organization of assets.
  • Search feature is intuitive.
  • Canto Support is not helpful!
  • Canto Connector for Designers is junk.
  • Canto pulls words out of asset description when searching so the photos are not always accurate when we search.
I did not work for the company when they purchased Canto so I am unsure what products they used and how they evaluated. I do know they looked at better products, but they had a much larger price tag so they were not chosen.
They will send you one solution to fix your problem and if that does not work, and you tell them that, they quit responding or take weeks to respond.
It is easy to use.

Do you think Canto delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Canto's feature set?

Yes

Did Canto live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Canto go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Canto again?

No

Canto is a graphic designer's nightmare! The photos are so nicely organized and tagged, but the extension Canto has provided for Adobe products fails more times than it works. When it does work, you eventually have to clear the folder from your drive to make room for more photos and then all of the links in old documents are lost. At this point we have to package every single file and that does not save the space that we originally wanted by purchasing this product.
