Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

Task management. We started using it as a customer management system for a while but realized it was difficult to implement. We now use it for most task management and goal tracking purposes. We have switched over to a more focused customer management software in order to fit our needs more accurately. We are now starting to use ClickUp as an OKR tracking service and it seems to be doing very well. We tend to keep things a bit more broad as it is difficult to get people to change the way they like to track their daily "to-do's". Some people prefer to write things down on paper or send themselves messages in order to keep track of their daily goals.
  • Task management
  • Team task overviews
  • Task assignment to other team members
  • Dashboards showing overall completeness of projects
  • Gantt charts
  • Too many options for use cases
  • When creating a field it is hard to see if that field already exists and our team ends up creating multiple different fields that track the same thing
  • An easier way to track daily goals and objectives. Maybe a simpler view like Microsoft To-do can keep you on track for daily tasks without the clutter of viewing the entire ClickUp software
  • Easy way to track the time spent on certain tasks has led to less time trying to backtrack the time spent on certain parts of a project
  • Being able to easily create a Gantt chart has been a huge time-saving piece. I think overall about 5-6 hours for any Gantt chart we have made
  • The ability to create dashboards of certain tasks or projects has saved 5 hours that would typically be spent doing so in excel or google sheets
I think ClickUp has definitely helped quite a bit when it comes to collaboration. Our teams have been able to see each other's goals and even assign certain tasks to other teams which have been really nice. The document-sharing feature is a good one but it has led to some confusion within our company as to where documents are located. We use google docs pretty often and sometimes we have had confusion as to whether a document is a ClickUp doc or a google doc.
There has been some definite productivity increase. It is a bit hard to quantify as some teams find ClickUp more useful than others. It does seem like ClickUp can replace multiple productivity apps but it tends to be difficult to set up each replacement within ClickUp. When we have replaced certain apps it has been difficult to get everyone on board using ClickUp as the replacement.
We chose ClickUp over the above for two reasons. The first is that ClickUp could do so much more for a lot cheaper. The other is that ClickUp has pretty much the same functionality. Even if it takes a bit longer to set up the fact that ClickUp can pretty much do anything has been a big factor in why we've continued to use it.

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

I think ClickUp is trying to do too much. There are too many use cases where it could be useful but ends up falling short. As a task and project management software, I think it is fairly built out and it works very well. Our dev team really appreciates the ability to use the ClickUp API to make things work for their use cases. Other features like the ability to make it into a CMS or event the ClickUp whiteboards feel clunky and it has not seemed to work well for our use cases. We've tried to use ClickUp for both of these use cases and we have ended up developing a workflow that works for a bit but then ultimately does not get used and ends up being a waste of time.
