Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare

We use CloudFlare for our CDN, DNS, SSL, Domains, Email, and Zero Trust Network requirements. Cloudflare offers full-fledged security DNS, CDN, and email routing solutions under one umbrella. A small digital design business like ours can afford the associated costs and Cloudflare's PAYGO pricing models.

We, along with our own websites and web applications, use and recommend Cloudflare services for our clients as well. The scalability, availability of its servers around the world, and the number of solutions that the company offers make Cloudflare one of the most used SAAS in our organization.
  • Zero Trust Network
  • DNS
  • Email Routing
  • Domain Renewals
  • Page Rules
  • Github Pages Apps
  • Content Delivery
  • DDoS Protection
  • Bot Mitigation
  • There's a scope for improvement in interface.
  • More attachment limit needed for Email routing. Currently it is 25MB.
  • More clarity is needed on Privacy of the Data collected through DNS queries.
  • Cloudflare's free plan has no hard limits on traffic it can handle.
  • We have had up to 41GB of traffic per day handled very efficiently.
  • Cloudflare's R2 ensures you can move your data anywhere without any egress fees.
  • Cloudflare has handled maximum of 2.4Million requests in a day for us.
  • Cloudflare email routing handles about 10000 email/day requirements for us for free.
It has been over six years since we started using Cloudflare. After using KeyCDN for just about a year, we think that it's not a bad CDN, but Cloudflare stands out because it offers so many other services simultaneously. There's not been a single domain that we purchased and haven't added to our Cloudflare account.

With minimal to no setup time, Cloudflare is much easier to use than Cloudfront. The free plan of Cloudflare appears to offer more generous limits than the free plan of Cloudfront, despite us not stretching it to its limits ever.

I believe Cloudfront and Cloudflare meet or exceed each other's performance metrics on the service front. Cloudflare is our CDN of choice because we use a bunch of other services with it.
Onboarding Cloudflare is a breeze. Right from the day we started using it, we barely looked back. Although we use other services sometimes, Cloudflare has been the strongest member of all of the service stacks we use at our company.
Never had to reach out to Cloudflare Support in the past 6 years.

If a small business is looking for Object Storage, they should consider Cloudflare's R2 storage with which there are practically zero fees associated. Other cloud object storage services like AWS S3 can add up costs pretty fast as the egress fees are high. Apart from this, Cloudflare is still the best DNS resolver hands down. Its DDoS attack protection is at par with the best services out there. Being one of the most popular CDN right now, they also have a big network of servers strategically placed around the world.

However, I do believe there are better, more premium services out there that offer more bespoke solutions for bigger enterprises and Cloudflare might not be the best solution for their needs.
