Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

The whole organisation, replacing paper timesheets and Excel spreadsheets. Reduces errors in adding up. Also replacing paper leave forms.
  • Scheduling.
  • Birthday reminders.
  • Leave Balances.
  • Integrates with payroll software.
  • Users not able to upload a receipt or certificate - requires some processes to be done outside Deputy still.
  • Doesn't do unworked but paid public holidays well - we have to use clunky workarounds.
  • Not many options for restricting access to users - means as admin some things can only be done by me.
  • Haven't been able to stop casuals from requesting leave - will be a slow process to educate them on only submitting unavailability - not requesting leave (they are still entitled to long service leave.

Does the basics well, just needs a couple more additions to completely remove paper for us.
Watch the videos, use the provided sessions. Make sure the right staff see them too. End-user staff hated paper timesheets, so was an easy sell to them. Easy sell for managers also as they hated signing multiple timesheets, scanning, etc., and chasing staff for timesheets. Deputy eliminates these issues in a surprisingly short time frame.
Well suited for regular schedules, remote workforces. Less suited for salaried staff, who need to record hours worked, but are paid a set amount and when staff have multiple pay rates.
