Overall Satisfaction with Deputy
We use Deputy for staff rosters for both front and back of house. Staff also use it to clock in/out of shifts and request leave. We integrate with Xero for seamless payroll.
Pros
- Integration with Xero - payroll is much easier with timesheet merging.
- Easy roster development as it alerts when Staff are on leave/unavailable.
- Allows staff to clock in/out with ease.
Cons
- Copy and pasting of shifts in latest update are not as user friendly.
- Award rate updates are not very clear for the restaurant industry so we've had to manually enter these into Xero.
- Staff onboarding does not integrate seamlessly with Xero - only some info pulls through and the rest we've had to add in manually. Can be time-consuming as we've had to triple-check for new employees. e.g. emergency contact info.
- Allows staff to swap shifts without Management approval - big flaw. We'd like to have more authorisation on this, does not allow in settings.
- Leave requests - would recommend displaying the leave report on the same screen so you can instantly see who has been approved leave or requested leave on the same date. At the moment you have to manually cross check this.
- Time saved in office, as its eliminated manual entries of time sheets.
- Improves staff morale as they have greater visibility on their work scheduling and a full history of timesheets and leave requests.
Deputy is the only system we have used and we are happy with the service.
