Overall Satisfaction with Encompass from Ellie Mae
We use Encompass in the residential mortgage department. We have also recently begun using it in our retail loan area for HELOCs and construction loans. We use it to originate, process, and close mortgage loans.
- Reports - The variety and types of reports. Graphs, simple text, charts. etc. Impressive look at your data.
- Milestones - Managing status of loans with milestones makes it easy to see where a file is in the process of the pipeline without even opening the loan.
- Creating custom forms - Ability to customize our documents and disclosures if key when you work for a small community bank.
- Tech support - Some reps don't seem as knowledgeable as others. Would prefer to be able to really zero in on areas and sections where you need help when you call in.
- Manual Data- Some areas that I believe should flow through to others, do not. It creates a lot of manual inputting which leaves room for errors.
- We are able to juggle more loans, more loan officers, more processors, etc., with Encompass. I worked with Calyx and Contour at prior companies and never felt they could handle the workload of a large company, or at least not visually.
- Calyx and Contour
I worked with both Calyx and Contour in the past. They don't even compare. Encompass is a beast of a software. It offers everything and then some. We underwent some internal changes a few years ago and decided to upgrade our software. I researched multiple other vendors and did demos with each of them. They all lacked one thing or another, and the overall look seemed like child's play in comparison. It was like comparing a lemonade stand to the Coca-Cola empire.
