Overall Satisfaction with GoToWebinar

The primary drawback of GoToWebinar is that the formidable array of features and customizations can feel vey unwieldy to new users. A colleague of mine became the point person for the software, and was often tasked with running webinars even when she wasn't a speaker simply because she was the one who understood how to manage the software mid-broadcast. When she had an extended absence I was tasked as her backup and had to devote an entire half of a work day just to teach myself how to set up new webinars. NOT recommended for folks short on support staff!
Marketing and Sales were the only departments in the company using GoToWebinar, which was used specifically for Webinars, of which we ran about one/week. We needed a solution that could host dozens/hundreds of people at a time, with sophisticated user permissions and Q&A features, which we found GoToWebinar up to the challenge for.
  • Great at managing Q&A
  • Great for generating participant lists
  • Very complex interface and setup requires support staff to manage the technical side while presenters focus on leading the webinar
It's the best software for broadcasting webinars to a large audience that I've used personally, but I would NOT recommend it for any other use case (such as basic web conferencing). It's really designed and best suited for folks running public-facing webinars of 20+ participants.
