Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Heap helps us easily instrument our product without bothering our engineers so that we can do a variety of data analysis. We're able to create dashboards around our product launches to gauge success and engagement with new features. We're also able to do exploratory data analysis to quickly answer questions during the product design process. Additionally using Heap Connect we're able to sync over data to our data warehouse for further reporting in our BI tools.

  • No-code analytics tracking.
  • Sync to data warehouse.
  • Account based analytics.
  • Increased engagement.
Heap has a pretty clean UI and easy to use UI after poking around a bit. Also the app is pretty responsive overall with searches being very quick to return. Additionally, the overall workflow of being able to define events, write queries, saving as report, and adding reports to a dashboard is all very smooth and easy to do.
Searches are pretty fast, even when going back over a year's worth of data, things load pretty quickly. I can't really recall when a search went longer than expected. Otherwise the UI itself is very responsive, though they have a new navigation change that has slowed my workflow a tad but nothing too bad.

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Very useful if you need to have the ability to do post-hoc data analysis or quickly instrument something in your application without needing to deploy any extra code. Pretty powerful visualization tools.

Biggest weakness is lack of account based analytics out of the box, so being able to do certain types of analysis in a B2B context is more challenging.
