Overall Satisfaction with Image Relay

We use Image Relay as a digital asset management tool, primarily for photography. Our primary clients are internal, specifically our marketing and communications office. It allows our small team of 10 to be able to browse images quickly and keep them organized and accessible via keywording.
  • Keywording and search.
  • Sharing with outside users.
  • Ease of use.
  • It would be nice to be able to select multiple photos during a bulk upload to keyword, right now you can only select one or all.
  • Default alphabetization of folders or control of how they get sorted.
  • Being able to create a new collection from within collections.
  • Increased productivity by staff (less hunting for photos).
  • Quality control (making sure the best images are highlighted).
  • Sharing with external clients.
Canto Cumulus was the best competition. It did a few of the things mentioned earlier a little better. We had chosen Image Relay before finding Canto, and have not felt compelled strongly enough to switch. If we were starting over, we might start with Canto.
Ease of use, keywording is strong, search functions work well.
They've always been very responsive when I've needed assistance.

Great for smaller teams, especially when someone (a few select people) has the time to correctly manage the content with organization and keywording. If too many people can submit and keyword content it gets messy.
