Overall Satisfaction with Indeed Hiring Platform

Indeed Hiring Platform is currently used for our hiring needs. We use it to post open job for individuals to apply for. Because we are a relatively small employer, we essentially use Indeed as our de facto ATS system. We use Indeed to communicate back and forth with candidates on interview times.
  • Ease of use
  • Cost effective
  • Able to reach out to a wide array of candidates.
  • Customer service is lacking.
  • Don't see a ton of value in additional services.
  • Constant issues with system being down.
  • Speeding time of hire.
  • Streamlined communication with candidates.
  • Able to recruit easily for remote positions.
We chose Indeed Hiring Platform because it offers the largest amount of potential candidates. Briefly have tried other services such as ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, Monster, etc. but Indeed Hiring Platform has always given us the most applicants. There are a lot of other bells and whistles with Indeed as well, but while these are nice, I find them to be more sales-friendly features vs. anything actually useful.

Yes

Yes

Did implementation of Indeed Hiring Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Indeed Hiring Platform again?

Yes

As a relatively small employer, Indeed Hiring Platform does a good job of getting our jobs out there for individuals to apply for. We essentially use Indeed to monitor candidates applying, and it is well-suited to getting the jobs published and out there. Their communication tools with candidates are set up well. If we were a larger employer with our own jobs page, I don't see Indeed as a great fit.

Using Indeed Hiring Platform

2 - Human Resources Vice President and Recruiter use platform. In theory we could set it up so managers had individual access to their own positions, but we find out that this takes way more work to set up and provides little benefit. HR prefers to be the only person using this system to prevent managers from talking to people with flashy resumes.
2 - Skills aren't necessary since Indeed doesn't accept a lot of HTML commands. This can be limiting in the modern recruiting space where we'd love to have badges on our employee profile, links to videos, etc. but we can only set this up on our main page and not on a per job basis.
  • Finding candidates
  • Organizing candidates by role
  • Keeping a database of candidates
  • Able to adjust our company page to add video, badges, etc.
  • Gives us the largest base of candidates to choose from
  • Can interface with other job posting systems like JobTarget for additional candidates
  • Continue to bring in quality candidates
  • Could use their testing requirements for basic level jobs
  • They do have functionality to schedule interviews directly from the system, may use in the future
Like the platform overall, and at it's core, we need people applying for jobs. Indeed gives us the most amount of people applying. Negatives are service is basically non-existent since moving to a "Chat only" service model, and they are always trying to get us to pay for sponsored jobs, better employee profiles, etc.

Evaluating Indeed Hiring Platform and Competitors

Yes - Indeed replaced ZipRecruiter for us. ZipRecruiter's candidate pool seemed to be dropping rapidly and we were paying a healthy amount of money to get few candidates. Indeed was great since it was free, and we discovered that we got more candidates using the free solution so a switch was easy to make.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The number of candidates was our biggest deciding factor. The drop in price compared to paid solutions was great as well. We do end up sponsoring some jobs and paying Indeed money to get some of our jobs at the top of the search results. We also pay to have an updated company page.
I don't think I'd make any changes. As other companies emerge and start spending serious advertising dollars to get their name brand out to applicants, we may consider other solutions. Again, our biggest selling point is getting the largest amount of candidates applying for our jobs. We do good with jobs working from home, less good with jobs which require people to be there in-person.

Indeed Hiring Platform Implementation

Integration was easy and painless. Really had no issues throughout the process, and Indeed did not offer us support options. Glad that the system is helpful since Indeed's customer service is not. I do wish they had better support options, even a phone number to call if we run into issues.
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - We basically did everything in house and didn't have a lot of direction from Indeed. But the reality is the system is very user friendly and we were able to integrate and move our jobs over to Indeed without any major issues. I do wish that they had better service when we did run into issues.
  • Linking with our ATS
  • Merging candidates who apply on Indeed with our Onboarding system
  • Customer service issues

Indeed Hiring Platform Support

When we first started with Indeed, we had a dedicated account rep that we could reach out to with questions. They would often try to upcharge, but at least we could get solutions for issues. Unfortunately now Indeed has removed those positions and the only way to contact Support is chat and email. Many times we don't get an answer to questions, and have no escalation point for issues.
ProsCons
None
Slow Resolution
Poor followup
Less knowledgeable
Problems left unsolved
Not kept informed
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
Support doesn't seem to care
Slow Initial Response
We didn't receive an option for premium support. Depending on the price, this is something that we may consider. If we had a dedicated account rep, I would be much more inclined to want to go that option so that we could have someone to escalate concerns to, instead of just emailing and hoping it doesn't fall into a black hole.
When we had a customer service rep, we did find that they were pretty invested in our concerns and would help out. Unfortunately since these positions were removed, haven't had any positive interactions with customer service. It's a shame, because we would consider paying extra for a dedicated account representative again.

Using Indeed Hiring Platform

  • Cheap
  • Easy to use
  • Large amount of candidates
  • Brand recognition
  • Service is terrible
  • Market can be flooded with similar jobs, pushing yours down unless you pay
  • Always trying to upcharge
Indeed gives us the largest amount of applicants compared to other platforms. Basic postings are free, but Indeed is constantly trying to upcharge for making jobs sponsored to put at the top of the search results. It's hit and miss whether this is worth it or not. Service is basically non-existent unfortunately.
