Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

It's a repository of project content, communications, scheduling, follow up, contact management and more that is utilized throughout the office, on and off-site, to better keep all players in the loop as to project status, materials, etc. It's improved our access to where a project is at regardless of who is available to provide input.
  • It's a simple place to archive and organize communications and materials for easier access down the road.
  • We have a project type for ads in our publication - so we're able, at glance, to see all the ads in that publication in the order of their status – from not started to OK'd. It helps in not overlooking an ad and potentially failing to include it in the publication.
  • It gives us ONE spot to find the best contact info for a client that we can update for everyone's access whenever there's a change.
  • Conversion of an Opportunity to a Project doesn't bring the content of the Opportunity to the Project. It does put a link to the Opportunity in the Project – but I would find it more helpful to see everything in one spot under the project.
  • It's helpful that an email linked to a project automatically puts file attachments under files...I just wish it wouldn't also bring over all the innocuous media icons/logos that oftentimes make up the signature of an email.
  • Clicking on a project link to an email opens a screen for me to choose which Google account I'm using and then it opens a new browser tab for that project. It would be preferable if it would simply punt and go with the Google account associated with the email AND not open a fresh tab...that makes for lots of tabs after a while. Not a big deal.
  • It's had a very positive impact in creating a necessary transparency so we can all follow a project's trail and easily find pertinent files/documents.
  • Initially it had a negative impact as we struggled to figure out how best to utilize it. I would guess we had what seemed like about a 6-month time suck. A necessary exercise to get to a point where we found it to be a great asset.
I've tried a few other project management tools. Insightly is the only one that stood the test of time and patience. Positive reviews probably gave me added incentive to run it further through the hoops. I'm glad I did.

No problems - intuitive once you get a few of the basics down and then figure out how it best works for your system.
The enquiries I've had have gotten timely responses - though any issues worked themselves out. Support has not been something we've tapped.
I haven't found a less appropriate scenario yet...I use Insightly to help organize projects at work and as needed to create personal/private projects to manage non-work activities. It's just a great archival tool.

Insightly Implementation

The sooner you dive in the better. it's going to take months of dedicated usage before you start enjoying the benefits of it's organizational/archiving ability.

  • Then started in on cleaning up the detritus from our diving in
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - no sure i understand what change management is
  • Expending limited time towards building a basis of content worth having
