Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand
We use InVision Freehand often when running UX workshops so we can have a dynamic way to move and show information in real-time when collaborating with different teams. We use it as a virtual whiteboard so we can have something already set up but we will need to move these things around as we are going through the workshop. It's a really helpful tool for working virtually. I also like that the learning curve for the tool is pretty low so anyone can jump into the Freehand to move things around or add their own ideas. After the workshop is complete, I will often use the Freehand output to begin my UX work in Sketch.
Pros
- Create different spaces with their own notes and sections.
- Allows many users to collaborate in real time on one document
- Tied in with InVision so I can find them easily with my prototypes
Cons
- It allows for only very simple visuals, not great if you need something more branding
- The zooms are the opposite of Sketch which I always find hard.
- Documents can get too large and spread out.
- Collaboration
- Easily move components
- Beginning with a template to get you started
- Saved money by allowing us to do white boarding remotely
- Allows us to easily collaborate with people who have tight schedules because it can be remote.
Freehand is more intuitive and less restrictive than the free version.
