Overall Satisfaction with JIRA Software

[It's being used for] Coordinating work and submissions from multiple stakeholders and users and estimating completion of projects. Most of our software development teams use it for planning agile projects and coordinating with stakeholders, and tracking velocity and estimated completion dates.
  • Fits right into agile methodology and very easy to use.
  • No problems with copy/pasting images, attachments, and formatting stories to look right. Interface is fast, pleasing to use.
  • Commenting and tracking conversation and notes on stories is very easy.
  • Reporting and some charting capabilities is lacking. Need better ways to track burndown, velocity, etc.
  • Missing functionality for tracking testing and pass/fail.
  • A good example of "you get what you put in". It can get messy and overwhelming easily if left unchecked. Some tools and study on this would be helpful to guide users on proper management of agile.
  • Coordinating work and submissions from multiple stakeholders and users. Previously communication was by email, untracked, and easily forgotten.
  • Estimating completion of projects. Being able to understand exactly how many tasks, sum of points and effort helped with estimation greatly.
  • Documentation of stories greatly improved once they got out of phone calls and emails.
VersionOne's UI and UX is so severely dated. Actions that would take just 2 or less clicks would take multiple clicks, a pop up window, and old style dialogs in VersionOne. Hated it.
You need at least a team of 4 or more to really make use of this. Otherwise it's overkill on setup and configuration just to get this working.
